saw a clip of him from our first game vs. S.D last year. He is past his prime but watching a small clip of him killing some NFL DL's made me crack a smile.

NFL Network 7th clip down; Tommie Harris discusses best OG's he has faced. 1 min into the clip "THE BEAST" takes some poor linemen to school. What power!!

Watch the Raiders clips. I bet that doesn't make you crack a smile.

LA is too much like an aged baseball slugger.

He'll hit the occassional homerun - but he's far more likely to whiff at this point of his career. I'm sure he'll throw some impressive blocks this year. But he'll also strikeout a ton.

When LA gets his hands on you he still dominates, problem is these days he has a heck of a time locating his guy ... increasingly whiffing or completely missing his block.

I love LA, but the most important aspect of an OL is his consistency ... that's his weakest area at this stage of his career.

Didn't say I wanted him back.... but I will miss the Old (younger) LA. He meant alot to this football team for many years. He still has a few good years left in him and is still better than half the OG's in this league.

I'll always love him ... but I'm happy we are moving on.

If he goes out like Babe Ruth's last game, SF just scored big time. I doubt it though.

Sadly, he was still better than Rivera last year by quite a large margin. He was only released from Dallas because of money reasons. You can go on and on about how much better we supposedly are without him, but how long did he sit on the free agent market looking for a suitor? 48 hours? He basically got to call his own shot and play for his hometown team .. not the sign of a player who is generally regarded by the league offices as someone who's desperately trying to cling onto a career.

People rag on Bledsoe and how long did he last on the market? 48 hours? When a Hall of Fame talent hits the market, they don't last long. That doesn't say much to his usefulness, which is the point, not his talent. If we were a drive blocking team still, then great. Just like Glover wasn't a bad player, he just didn't fit.

I don't think anyone can say we are better off, particularly with Kosier. But it is clear that he didn't fit with what we wanted our guards to do, which is be able to pull and block a moving target. He couldn't do that. So his cost became prohibitive.

I have a feeling that BP wanted Hutchinson.. but the price got too high for Jerry. If you remember the first BP press conference he said something along the lines of.. well we didn't get everyone we wanted, sometimes the price is just too much.

But Hutchinson was "available" so we must fault Coach Parcells and damn Jerry Jones for that.

For the record, Ruth batted .181 during his one and only season with the Boston Braves.

Not sure they got their money's worth. One of the highest salaries in baseball that year for pitiful production.

Wow ... Tommie Harris has absolutely no screen presence.

What was his name for that block? Oh, yeah ...

"Oom-BINK!"
