Video: Leonard Davis #75 (Dallas @ Cardinals 2006)

BIG is gonna be a devastating and dominant OG for us. Our run game will be much better...

3:37 mark. Wow just wow. It's only one play I know, but look at how he just owned Hatcher driving him 7 yards off the ball. RG > RT for sure.

Yeah, that play really stood out to me too. He DOMINATED Hatcher on that play.

Its exciting to think about the potential he has at RG, it looks like a good season for the running game .

I dont understand some of you guys.

The only real thing he struggled with in that video was the outside pass rush. Thats it.

Hes an upgrade over Marco Rivera or Kosier and he will improve a lot of things.

Hes not gonna be a guy that is great at cutting off linebackers or playing offensive tackle for us but at guard he is a upgrade.

Huge upgrade!!!

Exactly. The only times I saw him get beat were when our speed rushers gave him an inside fake and then went full speed trying to get around him to the outside.

Run blocking... he did VERY well. There were several plays he did VERY well in pass blocking. The only times he really had trouble were with the speed rushers like others have said. If he was able to get his hands on you solidly, ya might as well give up cuz its over, you're not getting around him.

I think we've got ourselves a VERY good RG. Certainly a hell of a lot better than what we had with Rivera!!!

Run blocking definitely looked better than pass blocking. He whiffed on several of the passing downs and got beat outside.

He'd definitely be better in a confined space. What do all of you think about his ability to pull as a guard?

Thankyou for the video.Davis looks really good
overall and he won't be dealing with Ware anymore.:D

He looked pretty good...but he didn't look $49m good.

Drop the money stuff! It's not your money. He got the going rate for this year...

Why people bring the money up is really dumb. He's a Cowboy now, let JJ worry about how he spends his money...

let's just be thankful no one else in the East has a DeMarcus Ware.

Someone should make one of these videos for Columbo.

Definitely miscast as a LT. He did OK getting off the ball and setting up, but there were several times when it looked like he whiffed on the block but it hardly mattered cuz Leinart was already running for his life.

Davis was probably the best lineman on the team, which is why they put him out there. But I think he'll be a lot happier and more effective inside.

He's too big to be matched up against someoneas fast as Ware. I wish we had some video of him playing guard

Thanks for the footage. Lokks like Davis wasn't too bad. Ware and Ellis are premiere rushers. The reports are true, once Davis gets his hands on you, it's over. I think we have a player here.
:laugh2: that was only footage from 1 game plus ellis and ware both got by him with ease. if he doesn't play guard, he's gonna get romo killed

That would be what some us were referring to as his "maul"ing capabilities at Guard. It's going to be fun to watch. As long as he and Colombo stay healthy that right side is going to be sick wit it. :D

What I noticed is that he obviously has a problem with outside speed rushers, but he continuously owned Canty and Hatcher in both run and pass blocking. What's great is that, as a guard, he'll be facing guys more like Canty than Ware.

I agree. He struggled against the speed rushers but did a good job against the bigger guys. At RG he should not have that problem and should do very well.

I would definitely not be comfortable with him at LT if Adams went out (God forbid!). I'd rather see what McQuistan could do than for Davis to play there.
