Video: Mel Kiper - Who's up, who's down

LBs have to be able to run in the NFL. Spikes is just too slow. We need speed at that position. We're already too slow there IMO.

A few weeks ago when I gave my mock draft picks I had Dallas with Anthony Davis and was told no way that could happen. I don't know if it will but yes it could very well happen.

Give me an ILB that has great anticipation and reactions and instincts over a guy who has top 40 times and such but only has average anticipation and the rest.
Agreed. We already have Jason Williams who fits that bill.

I do hear that this kid Anthony Davis from Rutgers is falling and will be there at the #27 spot if the Cowboys are set on getting a guy to compete with Doug Free for the future at Left Tackle. And I guess he can always go to Right Tackle if Free wins the job,

.
I've seen him falling all the way to Green Bay at 23 on several mocks lately.

Hmm, kinda like last years pick Jason Williams, great athlete, not so great instincts, vs. drafting Brandon Spikes, slow 40 time, but outstanding instincts, along with outstanding production in one the best football conferences(SEC). If Spikes falls like Kiper predicts, it would be a no brainer picking him up after the 4th round.

You mean in round 5? Oh hell yes. But he's long gone by then. I'll be surprised if he makes into the 4th.

Tyson Alualu or LB Witherspoon would make this defense dominant for min. of 5 years.

Spikes in the fourth round? Sign me up please.

I'll be screaming in the 3rd. lol

Sweet. I'm interested to know what the team thinks about the guy.

Let's just say some people agree with me that he's like a 2006 Bradie James.

No one really wants a two down LB anymore.

nope not me - I have never understood the pouncey love - he had a so - so combine - I might be interested in the 2 round

You are discounting an offensive lineman based on his combine numbers?

That's crazy.

Next year I'm gonna keep my big mouth shut when somebody asks me who are my sleepers in the draft. Everytime I come up with them, all of the sudden EVERYBODY finds out about them. :D

I was hoping nobody would pay attention to Alualu and we can snag him in the 3rd round.

Spoke to Broaddus today.

Alualu is on the radar big time at the Ranch.

It won't.

Even if he's there it won't.

Thats be insane.

Right now we have 1 tackle that can play past next year. Flat out passing on one at 27? Crazy

Davis is a no go.

And if Free takes over for Flo and Colombo starts then someone has to be the backup. That guy won't be a rookie.

Brewster is in the mix.

And a guy like Calloway can be had in the mid rounds.

Davis started at guard as a frosh and was excellent.

Hed be better than Colombo at RT, and can be insurance at LT if Free doesnt take it. Or take Kosiers spot.

Flat out passing on him would be one of the worst moves Jerry ever made

I also think it will be a terrible move to pass on Davis. Even if we have a guy we want to take, I'd still trade next years first to get a LT of his caliber that low. When next will that opportunity present itself?

Having said that, it's ridiculous to say we have just one tack who can play. Last year proved that we have 3. And we seem to be pretty high on Brewster.

Spikes would be a steal for us in the 4th. Dude is a playmaker. People always overreact to 40 times. The combine is one of the most overated events
