No dog in this fight, so I listened then wrote out what was said.
"Now I'm going to give Jerry credit where I think credit is due. As far as doing the duties as a general manager for aquiring player talent, absolutely give him credit, and he is probably the best, the scouting department is doing a good job, he's doing a good job listening to the scouting department, we're not in salary cap hell, we're able to keep our draft picks that, you know, are really making contributions to the team...those are evidence of good moves as a general manager..."
Now, I agree that it was not spoken as "JJ is the best GM in the NFL" word for word. That much is obvious. So if that's the debate, there is none, as those were not the exact words.
The body of the discussion is about JJ being the GM, and lists several examples of Jerry's moves as GM...which, to me anyhow, point directly back to "as far as doing the duties of GM for aquiring player talent....he is probably the best".
So, unless there was some creative editing, if I were someone listening to this...I would have to say the person making this statement is claiming Jerry Jones is probably the best at doing the duties of general manager.
