The stories surrounding Roy and his #1 WR status aren't going away any time soon. So be prepared for them.

Maybe according to the media. But I think in-house, coaches and players are seeing something different.

thing I have read today

give me a break - Rws is not getting open

You've completely misunderstood what I'm saying. People are saying that Roy should be running routes X and Y. And I'm saying if that's true, then what if Romo's best when he's throwing routes A, B, and C? Then why should we have to risk Romo not being his best just to accomodate Roy Williams' preferred routes.

Also, Romo, like most QBs, does have places on the field that he doesn't throw to as well as others. For instance, he seems to skip or overthrow a lot of throws on outs or comebacks on the sideline, especially to his right.

Dukes doubting Austin..saying it was because of 2 bad secondaries .....really Dukes?......230 tds per game and 2 TDs per game......i dont care who we were playing those are amazing numbers in the NFL for back to back games....Austin wont do that every week...but none the less amazing

Interesting stuff. I thought Millen actually made a good point when he talked about how the Patriots have guys do things they're good at, and if they're not good at something they don't have them do that. I think we should start using Roy on some of the easier routes to run like the slant and post.

Agreed. Not every player can do everything and it's silly to ask an incapable player to routinely do something he's not good at. Either replace him or run plays he excels at.

While I agree that listening to anything Matt Millen has to say about football is like being taught self control by Hannibal Lectur , the point is that a GOOD OC looks at his skill players and figures out what they do best, then comes up with a game plan that puts it all together. Frankly we have not really seen that from Redball.

I know, its ridiculous for us to settle for the number one offense in the league.

Again, we are number one in yards. We put up good yards last year as well. As far as red-zone and third down conversions, we are lower middle of the league. Even against Atlanta, we were 1-3 with Romo doing his normal thing of keeping a play alive with his feet on the successful TD with time running out. He should have been sacked and any other QB would have. Miles can spread the field when the field to work with is large, but when it is small, it isn't that easy.

When teams start to double Miles and take away the deep play once again, this team is going to have to take what's given. This is where the heart of our offensive problems have lied in the past. The flow in the offense is what is lacking and we don't keep good teams off balance that well, and our inability to score in the red-zone is indicative of this fact. This is why Roy Williams is so essential to this team.

The next few weeks is going to be a good indicator of whether this offense has worked it's kinks out.
