I think you give most people too much credit. I can't disagree with recent takes, and events contributing to them. But this has been an epidemic for years, now. And in Roy's case, I believe it's mostly due to the fact that the media - self-appointed gateway to the fans - has a vendetta against him because he dared to take them on, and not play nice. This has led to some impossible standard that doesn't care to look at things in a comparative way - simply in a vacuum.
There is no mistake that individuals like Matt Mosley has a vendetta against Roy Williams, so I agree.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Roy Williams having a weakness in his game, all players have a weakness that can be exploited by opposing teams. Most Strong Safeties struggle in coverage that is a fact and it is also a fact that opposing offenses try to isolate Roy. Doesn't mean Roy Williams is a horrible player, but like I mentioned before, he just has a weakness that he needs to work on and/or the Cowboys will have to disguise it better.
Just about everyone on this forum has seen all the games the Cowboys have played in recent memory and therefore have enough material to make a somewhat educated assessment of each player on the roster, especially the high profile players.
Now some members of this forum have more football acumen than others and that certainly helps, but for the most part, alot of the arguments that take place on this board is based on someone trying to make a cogent argument about what they saw during the game.
Now they will quote members of the media to buttress their claim, but that is common in every facet of life.
If there was a media blackout for 1 game and nobody could listen to the media you would still have arguments on this board because:
A) People love to argue
B) As stated earlier, people argue about what they saw on film
