I doubt Johnson is the snitch. What motivation does he have? Sapp and he go way back and I think its moreso a buddy buddy thing rather than a snitch. The only motivation I could see is if Werder is telling him he can get him a studio job when his career is over. I highly doubt it though. Johnson been in the league for 8 zillion years and he never had any issues anywhere.
For the record, I think the players know who it is by now. If it was Johnson Owens would still be here. It had to be somebody still on the team with some major pull. If the rat is gone then why get rid of TeeO? To me its obvious its Romo or Witten. I remember when the Cowboys played the Packers on the NFL Network in the 07 season, the NFL Network did a 3 hour pregame show just like they always do and during it you can clearly see Romo and Werder goofing around like they were in junior high while the pregame hosts talked. Remember there stage is always on the field so you can see these things. There were many COWBOY players out there but he chose to goof around with Werder. When Owens was cut I dont beileve Romo has said anything as of yet. Its all speculation but we all know Jerry, he wouldnt cut his prize possession for anyone. He did it for Romo. Its like when Deion came in, do you think he would of cut him if Jason Garrett complained? Now if Troy complained it would be a different story.
Johnson has much more reason to talk than either Romo or Witten. Romo'd be the last person likely to say anything. There's more upside to him in staying quiet, and more even in coming out directly with any criticism. Romo's also unlikely to refer to himself in the third person when talking to Ed Werder.
The Witten guesses were always crazy in my book. The quotes don't sound like him and it'd be so far out of character for him to say anything that way. Never made any sense.
As for Johnson, why *wouldn't* he talk? He had nothing to lose, has plenty of motive to think TOs an ***, and he wasn't going to be back next year anyway. Plus, Sapp mentions him by name, though he's obviously talking about an off-the-record conversation.
Have I mentioned that Deion Sanders is a huge ***?
