I think using more 8-12 yard routes and letting the playmakers use their RAC ability to get the big plays would be greatly beneficial to this offense, and our defense, cause that coupled with the before mentioned running game would allow us to control the clock, tempo, and game a lot more effectively.

I don't know that Romo can do a timing offense as in Coryell/Zampese style. Aikman was just so accurate and a lot of his throws just got there so quickly. I don't know we have the WRs for it either esp TO. Probably Crayton and possibly Austin could do it. I haven't seen RWR enough to know altho I suspect he could.

I think just getting the ball out sooner on more plays, picking up the blitzes better, better OL execution man to man pass protection, shorter drops and quick passes, better hot reads and execution, and why not some slants. Surely Witten and TO can run a slant to an empty hole.

I'd agree w/ that too. I'd really like to see Dallas go to more timing-routes, similar to what we did in the early 90s.

You sound like Jerry Jones after he fired Gailey and brought Jack Reilly back.

It is not the system. You cannot recreate systems and expect the success. The key is to prepare well and have a plan that can be modified. We had enough offensive success that some adjustments can change things. As bad as it was at times, it was not inept.

If Garrett is as smart as touted, he will adjust and have a more flexible plan this time that isn't so rigid that a few injuries will throw everything into disarray.

One thing to remember. Once a team breaks camp, it is not that easy to simply modify the playbook. You can't just throw it out and start over.

The bad thing is that our plan was tailored around a bad backup QB and our OL was not nearly as great at pass protection as thought. Felix Jones was probably a major part of what we planned to do. What tweaks that Sparano was able to make to the offense went away when Houck was hired and we went too far with the downfield attack mode Garrett ran with. Owens isn't the same player, Williams was brought in midstream.

Yea... that's for those NOT familiar with T Hambrick.

Hambrick is also "famous" for Dookie-stick... :laugh2:
