Thank you for taking the time to do those.

Lots of stuff to talk about in those, man. I think after that, id be ok with Roy and Ellis coming back. But gosh, who can even try to doubt the chemistry on this team is ok or comparable to other teams? To hear every single player talk about it, it’s not the media, it’s real. I also think the defense is upset that Stew was the scapegoat...i mean really, i think Wade has lost this team, completely.

Would they be talking about it had the team made the playoffs and just won one game to get to the divisional round?

I think not.

It's a red herring. The players don't want to admit that they're not talented enough, so logically, if they're not going to point the finger at their ability, and they don't want to throw the coaching staff under the bus, they've got to say they didn't "play together."

This I don't get. What does that mean, exactly? An individual can only do his job on the football field...nobody else's. Leonard Davis can't keep Flozell Adams from false starting. Marion Barber can't keep Tony Romo from making the wrong read and throwing an interception. Bradie James can't make Marcus Spears occupy at least one blocker.

Unless byt his they mean that not everyone played well...but that's not about "playing together," it's about some guys just not playing well.

Ellis disagrees with the Brian Stewart firing. That was the one thing this organization has gotten right in recent months.

Well Roy, looks like you will be restructuring. Unless Jerry loves you, admitting that you would redo pretty much ensures that you will redo.

Anyone know what the realistic savings possibilities from Roy are?

I hope Roy comes back. I like the guy and want to see him succeed.

LBer, I dunno. I guess if he could pack on about 20 pounds he would be a slight size upgrade over Thomas' listed size.

Who knows.

Excellent interview!!! Romo and the Boyz will be just fine in 09 if they just do what they say and work hard. I have ZERO faith in WP so it's gonna have to be the players who lead the way...

Thanks theebs. I like Romo more all the time. Sad to see him so somber and serious. I think this season and the collapse wore on him. That can be a good thing. Motivation.

thanks for posting the vids. i got mixed feelings. for one thing i love all 3 guys. but i get the feeling this game has changed a lot in the past 20 years or so. these guys seem detached or something. they might be telling the truth but it's clear it's a business to them and that part of it is sad. we defintively need a new kick butt coach on this team. i hope that the guys they bring in to replace the vacancies on the coaching staff are as mean as yunk yard dogs.

Just got a chance to watch them all... Thanks, theebs. I've almost forgiven you for showing the world our draft board now. :)

Man, I hope we ship Greg out. I've always defended him, but enough is enough.

And Roy? I'm hoping we keep him one more year.

Neither of these guys are the brightest bulbs, though.

Thank you, Theebs. I watched them all.

Greg Ellis says "what T.O. says is true". According to Ellis' logic, since Owens is "right" and you are "wrong', Owens can behave the way he wants to behave. He can deliver his messages and disrespect players and coaches in public, because, as Greg says, "he's right".

Then Ellis gives this great one:

He says that Stewart was the "scapegoat" and wasn't the problem. He seems to point the finger at Wade Phillips. I took it that he was blaming Phillips for the "problems on defese".

Ummm, Greg.

You are one of the guys running to Uncle Jerry complaining about how you were being used in the defense when Stewart was supposedly calling it. You went over Stewarts' and Phillips' head to whine and complain. Way to undermine your coach, you big baby.

The defense got better after Phillips took it over. You need to get your facts straight. You make it sound like the defense played poorly after the Rams game and played better before Stewart was "demoted".

I can't wait until this selfish, paranoid, diva is cut. I'm counting down the days.

Edit:

I forgot the best part.

Ellis hopes to "make the "circus" work to our good". He appeared to think the 1999 Rams or "the Greatest Show on Turf" "made it work".

Umm, Greg.

The Rams were called that BECAUSE OF THEIR PLAY ON THE FIELD, not becasue they were a basket case in the lockerroom or within the organization.

Also, emotional leaders are important. Tim Tebow is an emotional leader, too. Now, Romo may not be able to do that part of it. He downplays it, but Micheal Irvin was "the heart and soul" of the Cowboys from an emotional standpoint. He knew how to motivate guys and pump them up.

Someone has to be able to say:

" I didn't come this far and fly all the way to Philadelphia to let them score 50 straight points and lose this game". "This isn't going to happen".

Then, as a player or group of players, you do what ever you have to do in order to stop that onslaught.

I was not going to comment on Roy Wiliams, but I read Dave Halpren on his blog. I agreed with him. He pretty much said this: (summary)

When a player says your scheme is not "gap sound" and "he's better suited for a 4-3", then, it's time to move him to a 4-3 team or let him go to one.

Phillips' scheme requires the players to be "gap sound".

Here are my added thoughts:

Why does Roy think the Rams and Giants ran all over Dallas in October?

It wasn't the scheme; it was the players in St. Louis not playing their gaps correctly, at times. They wore down in New York and tried to do too much on some of the long runs by Jacobs. Some players got out of their gaps.

A 34 requires gap discipline just like a 43.
