Except they don't suck, made some great picks last draft, have shown faith in their players, and managed to put together a dominant oline and dline, the two foundations to a good team if you believe the cliches.

They were in the playoff hunt till the end there.

they were 4-12...their OL is in shambles...they suck at QB...they vastly overpaid to keep Larry Johnson, they stink at CB and they just traded away their best player

This sucks for the one reason that now you know EXACTY what you're going to be looking at to lock up DWare long term.

He'll be approaching the 85-90 million dollar mark by the time they start to renegotiate with him.

Agree... And they may "rule this draft", but this isn't even a particularly strong draft IMO.

They just gave away a DPOY candidate for a bunch of question marks. Unless they were convinced Allen couldn't stop DUIing (which is possible), I have no idea why they did this. When you get lucky enough to find an Allen in the draft, you don't get rid of him. You do what it takes to hold on to him.
