I think they're a contender in the NFC if AP and Brett stay healthy. If that happens or not obviously remains to be seen but I won't sleep on the idea that they've got a shot.

As for the Williams Wall I'm not surprised by this at all.

He won't throw that many, not with AP back there. I see alot of short, high percentage passes for him this year. Dump offs to Peterson, Chester, and Visanthe. Also look for some quick screens to Percy Harvin in space.

I'm telling you, its a tough team. You sure can't run on them, and they can pound it down your throat.

To dismiss them from SB talk because Favre is there, is pure lunacy.

That is what I expect as well which is why I think Minn has a chance to compete for a shot at the SB. Brett for the 1st time will not be asked to carry the team. I don't see Minn as the odds on favorite to make it but I think they have a better chance with Brett behind center than they would with Jackson.

And here are his stats for the last 5 games with the Jets:

Attempts:175
Completions:98
Completion %: 56
Yards: 1011
TDs: 2
Ints: 9
QB Rating: 55.2

And of course, the most important: 1 win, 4 losses.

Oh, you can say he was injured. But exactly why am I supposed to believe that a 40 year old QB will last all 16 games without some sort of injury. Oh, and by the way, the Vikings gave up the 7th most sacks last season (43 sacks...wowzah Brett, enjoy).

You mean those are his stats when he's got a torn bicep? And those are also the stats in late fall in the windiest stadium in the country? You're quite the slueth.

As far as him getting injured again, yes, he's 40 years old. He's also not missed a start in 17 years. SEVEN TEEN YEARS. Let that sink in.

As doomsday says, he's not trying to carry this team. Just steer it. The jets also won 4 games without him the year before. The very fact that the opponents won't put 9 guys in the box because Brett will recognize the 1 on 1 coverage will make thier run game even better. Look for AP to have a monster year this year.

Brett is old, and he's not what he once was, I agree. But he's a whole lot better than Tavaris or Sage. Everyone else recognizes this except you.

I'm sure he'll play through an injury this season as well. And he'll suck while he's doing it, just like he did last season.

I agree - in the end, the signing of Favre will only have set them back a year.

I was the biggest Brent FAvre supporter there was until he decided to manipulate his trade to the Vikings last year. Then I was done with him. I don't believe he will benefit the Vikings and by the end of the year will be playing poorly, hurt, on the bench, or retired again. I will say that if he does lead them to the Super Bowl, I will give him all the credit he deserves. He already is one of the top 5 QBs of all time in my mind and will move up even higher on that list if he puts the Vikings in the Super Bowl. The major drawback to the Vikings is their head coach. He is the most clueless coach there is in the NFL.
