So when we beat them Sunday for the 5th time in the post-season, that will be the most times eliminated from one team?

Awesome. I'll be sure to make everyone in the stands aware of that.

Being the most popular team goes hand-in-hand with being the most hated team.

It only builds the Cowboys up more....higher ratings and more intimidating.

I know of a Cowboys hater(Eagles fan) from YouTube who made up this "America Universally Hates the Cowboys." This guy already has over 1,000 members on his facebook page lol. They all put up photos of the Eagles, and Commanders, Steelers, and Giants having "Success." Jesus christ and they are encouring the Viqueens fans. I really really really hate Minnesota even more. **** do I hate them! I think it started with how obnoxious that mullet wearing, redneck piece of **** that JAAARRRRRRREEEEEEED Alllen is. Brett Farve is a drama queen, and I wish those idiots up in Minnesota would realize that. AP is overrated, and that entire team is over****ingrated.

Yet Child Support Services aren't around enough for those poor little Eagles fans. I'm kinda glad I wasn't raised to be a Eagirls fan. I think I'd be scared from the physical abuse my parents would put me on after we lose a game lol.

They are making it sound like the Cowboys are a combination of the '85 Bears and '96 Favre-led Packers.

:laugh1:

Yeah, a most fearsome combination.
Or how about simply the '92 Cowboys?

To bring up the 1996 "Favre led Packers' shows how myopic they are to try and bring something tangentially related to themselves into the equation, the 1996 Packers were hardly one of the giants of league history.

They love being called "America's team." So if you root for the Vikings on Sunday, are you anti-American?
It always cracks me up when people just do not get the concept of "America's Team."

Does the author ask if Ford and Chrysler drivers are anti-American since Chevy's motto is "The Heartbeat of America?"

Does the author ask if flying Delta or United instead of American is anti-American?

Are you anti-American if you eat any pie other than apple?

It is so ridiculous how uneducated people really are about nicknames and metaphors.

You cannot deny the mileage they got out of that one victory though.

Favre was suddenly a great clutch QB who did not get a case of the yips in big games (never mind he has repeated that tendency four or five times over since).

Holmgren was suddenly a personnel genius who could build teams (nevermind that Ron Wolf was actually the architect).

All that out of one Super Bowl win that is owed for the most part to Desmond Howard. Very impressive.

And you have to forgive Vikings fans. Anyone who actually wins a Super Bowl has to be a God to them.

Just because NFL Films came up with the moniker didn't mean the team had to embrace it. But that's what Tex (and later) Jerry did for marketing purposes. The players have considered it more of a burden.

So have most fans. I personally wish it would go away so the stigma would just disappear.

I do not fault Schramm for using it. Any smart business person would if they were trying to market their brand.

Bob Sturm...who is the biggest favre fan on the planet, is talking about favre in the postseason since that super bowl win.

Since that day, he is 3-7. Two of the wins are over seattle in the wild card round.

and the vikings have 1 playoff win since 2001, over favre!

Not all of them. I can show you countless interviews with players referencing the honor of playing for "America's Team." But you alreayd knew those existed. You just chose to ignore it.

I am glad Tex and Jerry embrace it.

I can't help but wonder why the Star Tribune allowed an article to hit their pages with the word "slurpfest" prominent in it?

If I were his Editor he would be re-writing that line. It's bad enough people are fixated with it on fan forums. Now credible newspapers and websites are joining the parade?

Call me ignorant, but what marketing can you point to under Jerry that used the America's Team name?

This isn't about the stupid name/lable of America's Team. This is about the simple fact that they are America's Team.

Haters throw that out there as if the Cowboys actually use "America's Team" in it's current marketing.
Does the NFL or the Networks? Anyone see any Cowboys TV promos lately? Everytime I see one its the Dallas Cowboys vs Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.

It's window dressing, a distraction, taking attention away from the fact that they actually are America's Team.

That's what drives the haters nuts........they can't stand it.

I love it, it is not for the feint of heart.

Like it or lump it, the Cowboys are America's team.
