Just finished reading Mickey Spagnola's column and he is claiming the Vikings back DT, who blew up that pitch out to Zeke on 3rd own at the end of the game, said he played run all the way and he knew the Cowboys were going to run the ball by the way they were set up. We heard similar comments from at least two other teams. I am starting to think there is something one or several guys on offense are doing that is tipping off run or pass. When I played baseball, I was taught that pitchers can have "tells" that tip off what pitch they are going to throw. They might so something with the ball or throwing hand subconsciously if they were going to grip the ball differently. Could it be one of the Cowboys offensive lineman or maybe Dak is tipping the play by making a subconscious motion of some kind? This would certainly explain why the Vikings were so successful on those two bizarre run calls at the end. No one could have expected the Cowboys to call those plays in that situation.

I'm certain studying film has no bearing on this.

Nice to know that this coaching staff has learned NOTHING from our playoff loss to the Rams. I've never been for a revolving door at head coach, but it's high time for Garrett to go.

Spagnola is on DallasCowboys.com. Are we allow to link to articles there? I admit I don;t keep up with the rules but I don;t want to get the forum in trouble.

Pretty sure you can but we're good.

FYI....Dallas Cowboys.com is OK since it's Cowboy's official web. Dallas News.com is not OK....

That's why it is important to play off your tendencies. If a team is bent on stopping your run, you can't quit running the ball, but you can mix up what runs you use. We stayed with the expected and got the result we should have expected.

It is my contention Dallas should have lined up with two receivers right and a tight end. Have the tight end block down on either the DE or linebacker ans both receivers to run crossing routes into the end zone left.

Fake the hand-off left to Zeke and have Dak run the bootleg right.

I was thinking this when it was two yards for a first. As long as you impede the DE and or Linebacker, that two yards should have been fairly routine.

I'll say it again. Dallas now has been bit on Switzer's 4th and 1 24 years later.

Players tipping the plays are a distinct possibility.

Or it could be that our play-calling tendencies, coupled with the formations we run, are all that the more astute D-coordinators need to deduce what we’re likely to run in a given situation.

Jerry is the only GM in the NFL that doesn't watch game film...

You know this isn't even completely wrong, but possibly the total opposite of the truth, right? Jerry attends coaches meetings and evaluates in those meetings.

I'm not saying that's how it should be, but youre blowing smoke out your brown hole.
