Vince Young Will Be Named Titans Starting QB Tomorrow

I would be ecstatic if the Titans fired Fisher and he landed in Dallas..I would take him over any of the other big name candidates

Well Bud Adams was the one who overruled Norm Chow and Jeff Fisher and made the decision to draft Vince Young.

However, they have alot of money invested in Vince Young. I think they need to find out if he is the future or they need to go elsewhere.

So Bud Adams is overruling Fisher and is demanding Vince become the starter???

I though Jerry was the only owner in the league who interferred with his coaching staff, at least that is what most of the Jerry haters say constantly.

I guess other owners make personnel decisions also, I would have never guessed Jerry was not the only one.

nI would want to see Young as well, Adams not withstanding. With a a couple franchise type QBs coming out(maybe) they need to decide on Young.

OBTW, Jerry wasn't happy when Tuna beched Bledsoe but he never demanded Bledsoe play. That wasn't aimed ay anyone. :)

Young is better than Collins anyway, so it couldn't hurt. For some reason the Titans play better when Young starts compared to win Collins starts.

In 2006 both Young and Collins joined the Titans. When Vince starts the Titans are 18-11(62.1%). When Kerry starts the Titans are 13-12(52.0%). They are both 0-1 in playoff starts.

The amazing thing is that their passing stats are almost identical during that time.

Pass completions
Young 444
Collins 442

Pass attempts
Young 780
Collins 784

Completion %
Young 56.9%
Collins 56.4%

Passing yards
Young 4964
Collins 4827

YPA
Young 6.4
Collins 6.2

YPC(yards per completion)
Young 11.2
Collins 10.9

Passing TDs
Young 22(2.8%)
Collins 18(2.3%)

Interceptions
Young 33(4.2%)
Collins 21(2.7%)

Young throws more interceptions and that is about the only difference between the two guys as far as passing. Obviously Young is the much better runner. Why not go with VY? More than likely neither guy is going to be back in Tennessee next season. Neither guy is worth it. Go with the young guy.

They went 14-2 last year with Collins. No way they get there with Young.

The ints is what got him in trouble. If I was the one who had to make the call I would go with Young for the simple reason they need to know do they stay with him as their QB of the future or do they look to cut their losses with Young. Collins is not the future and with their season all but over with they need to find out about Young once and for all.

Minor correction, they went 13-3 last sesaon. There is no way they get there with either guy this season.

Anybody think the Titans are tanking on purpose here by making Young the starter so they can make sure they get a top 5 pick???

I know there are alot of UT fans on this board, but lets get real here. Vince Young is just not a very good NFL QB, he is terrible.

No one ever said Jerry was the only idiot.

They are 0-6 with Collins as the starter. I don't see how putting Young or any other QB on their roster in as the starter will be tanking. They just are not a good team. They will lose more than they win with either guy starting or playing. Have you seen Collins play this year? He has been terrible. His good year last year was not even that good. The bar is set very low in Tennessee as far as QB play.

There is a similar situation in Tampa where they are now on their 3rd QB for the season who was their 1st round pick.
