Here we go again.........................

Why is Lukemartin79 allowed to blatantly call me stupid in this thread? Is that now allowed?

Lukemartin79
Its called being human and being a loyal fan, lol. Being a fan goes deeper than just stats for most, you should try it some time. I forgot - your the guy who thinks Parcells, a Hall of Fame coach, is stupid, lol. The stupid person is the guy looking back at you when you look in the mirror.
It's only allowed in your case because you deserve special treatment and he's not wrong

Can anyone guess what is this?

This is the team offensive ranking of Emmitt's teams his last five years in the league. What a difference maker, with his <4 yards per carry in that span.

And trust me, you really don't want to see the win-loss records of the teams Emmitt "carried" the last half of his career.
Yeah we can guess it would be you cherry picking the worst part of a great cowboy players career.

You're really special when it comes to this a true talent.

The average lifespan for a running back is less than 3 years Emmitt played five times that long. Of course there are going to be some down years at the end of a 15-year career.
The man was a legend in all aspects of the game including durability and longevity.

But by all means you continue to cherry pick every bad thing that ever happened in his long 15-year career

All before 2000...

Regular season
153 games, 3243 carries,13963 yards, 4.3 ypc,136 TDs

Playoffs
17 games, 349 carries, 1586 yards, 4.5 ypc, 19 TDs

not counting receptions or receiving TDs.

He played an additional season in the playoffs and you have the nerve to post this garbage after a hall of fame career. Pretty sad stuff. His first 10 more than made up for his last 5.
And it will get sadder as the thread goes on because this smacked glass with his impeccable research skills will dig up every bad thing that ever happened to Emmitt in his whole career just to prove his point.

It's unfortunate these type of people are tolerated on a cowboys fan forum and able to minimize the careers of our greatest players.

People always seem to forget how great of an OL that Emmitt had.

Without studs like Mark Tuinei, Mark Stepnoski, Nate Newton, Erik Williams, Kevin Gogan, and Larry Allen……Emmitt would have likely had a very average career.

A great O-line is much more important for winning than a great RB.
Emmitt only led the league in rushing 1 time with Larry Allen.

Emmitt started his career behind some of those olines that were there for the late 80's and 1-15 season. Nate Newton, Kevin Gogan, Mark Tuinei, John Gesek all owe their careers to Emmitt - not the other way around.

I got a big boat and Quint as my Captain so this is going to get bloody.
Because as usual no one will agree with you no matter how many statistics you manufacture

Good lawdy...low blood sugar here. Couldn't correctly complete the sentence even on the second try.

The sentence as intended:
"I know you also argued for keeping Zeke as starter over Pollard....and then were against Cowboys cutting Zeke. Perhaps you have a bit of an overly big heart towards favorite running backs?"
Perhaps he wanted to see the cowboys formulate some type of a plan before cutting Zeke.
At this point we have a. rookie drafted at the end of the draft journeyman and a guy coming off injury that leaves our running game as a big question mark.

You have to REALLY cherry pick because not very many "bad" things happened during Emmitt's G.O.A.T. career.

And every time someone spouts that nonsense we simply ask them to tell us how any other RB did behind that same line when Emmitt was not playing, and if these guys were so great why aren't they all in the HoF?

-Emmitt is a HOFer and a Champion
-Emmitt is a top ten back. Debatable where in the top 10
-Emmitt has a warriors heart
-Emmitt played at least 4 years past his expiration date

I know you also argued against Cowboys pushing Emmitt above Pollard....and against Cowboys cutting Emmitt. Perhaps you have a bit of an overly big heart towards favorite running backs?
There's no debate. Emmitt is the #1 RB of all time whether you want to argue career records (Emmitt holds every major RB career record), Super Bowl wins, and MVP awards. There is nothing anyone can debate to lessen this other than their own bias. A RB's job is to gain yards, score TDs, and help his team win the SB. It therefor is logical to anoint the guy with the best numbers in all of those categories as the G.O.A.T.

P.S. - Nobody is going to breaking any of Emmitt's career records unless the game drastically changes which isn't likely so Emmitt will remain the G.O.A.T.

He's the G.O.A.T. #1 all time. There is no logical debate against that. He is the Jerry Rice of the RB position.

If Emmitt's sticker on his helmet had been anything other than a Cowboys Star there would be no detractors like with Rice.
You aren't going to get a disagreement from me, sir.

Very true brother but don't underestimate TROs ability to find some obscure useless statistic and dwell on it to try and prove his point.

You are spot on and Emmitt is the best of the best.

But TRO will do his best best to try to debate him to a lesser spot in football history.

But no one will agree with him and we will all Snicker and bust his Stones till the thread gets closed

Emmitt came into the league with intent on becoming the all time leading rusher.....cards fell in his favor with the OL, QB and WR able to take pressure off him... and oh yeah, a blocking FB named Moose. But his heart you can't question or duplicate. He was a winner and knew what it took. Rushing record that may well stand the test of time.
not to mention a head coach that understood motivation and how to align his players for success.

Barry Sanders had some of the worst o'lines in NFL history, and even with a shortened career he is #4 on the all time list.

Pure talent DOES make a difference...

This is such hyperbole. He didn't. Not even close. His olines consisted of Kevin Glover and Lomas Brown who had a combined 10 Pro Bowls. Even a year with Bill Fralic, who was a 4 time Pro Bowler. So sick of hearing this nonsense when it comes to Sanders. He played with good players. Most of you act like he played for the Bengals in the 90s
