Voch: George Karlaftis film study

Raw and not bendy are the opposite of what he is.

He’s one of the most polished edge rushers in the class and had a sub 7 second 3 cone.
I like him and like all edge guys he will be overdrafted because there's a premium on this. He just looks like a guy thats rotational and a guy that needs developing. I think 24 is 2 rich.

Any of those top 5 Edges somehow fall to 24, you hand in the card. Just don't see it, I see Edges/Tackles flying off the board early.
Maybe. I think because of the money that Adams and Hill make receivers have moved up the board as well. The Cowboys need two quarterbacks to go before 24.

I've been iffy on him, but the more I watch, the more I like. He's obviously explosive. As soon as he gets near the target, he launches. He tested really well. Don't love the sack production, but like Voch said, it's not always about sacks. I also trust Voch when he gushes over a lineman. He was 100 percent right about Slater last year
Voch almost had a heart attack when the Cowboys drafted Parsons over Slater. I think he still would have chosen Slater over Parsons if he knew Parsons was going to be the Pass rusher that he is now. Voch loves him some Green. So keep in eye on him.

In retrospect, it was actually a really tough decision. Parsons is incredible, but Slater is too, and plays LT. Bit have potential to be great players

A lot can happen in the top 23 picks.
I just heard some interviews with Stephen. The Cowboys are putting lots of pressure on the players that were drafted last season. They expect Joseph, Osa, Gholston, Ball and others to step up. The Cowboys are all in on draft and developing players. I think that is smart.

What does that tell you? Offensive heavy draft coming as all our 2nd yr players are on defense. I agree, with his draft/development strategy, but they could be more active in both fa and the trade market.

The Cowboys issue was defense when they drafted Parsons. They made the right decision. Slater is great but he would have been a guard for us. The Cowboys defense would have given up 40 a game without Parsons.

Totally agree. Give me some 4th and 5th rounders that you have been looking at. They might draft a pass rusher in the top 3 rounds if one falls to them.

What makes you think he’s a rotational player? He’s like a unanimous top 15/20 pick on almost every analyst board out there.

He’s a + athlete, had + production while often eating double teams his whole career and he gives you some scheme flex to kick inside.

I think he’s one of the safest pass rushers in the class.

I heard both Stephen/Jerry mention pass rusher, so that appears to be their top defensive need. Both also mentioned OL, TE and WR.

I think they will wait to after the draft to sign a free agent.

There are a ton still available and prices will come down, they will be in good cap position to sign one.
The Joneses are only taking bargains. I would love for them to sign Clowney. He would sure up the run game defense and is a better player then Gregory. I can dream I guess.

I don't think he solves the interior issues we have, and he will need time to earn reps. Mafe is a better edge than him . He plays very physical and is better against the run as well. That said, at 24 we need a DT or best available olineman. We are soft in the middle.

Nah man.

Karlaftis outproduced Mafe playing in the same conference and in less games.

As tempted as we all may be 2 draft a DE at 24, if a generational talent like Zion or Davis is available, you turn the card in. We need to fix the trenches first, INSIDE. Davis will command double teams and free up our rushers.

How many rookie edge guys can walk in and start day 1? Its hard.
