Signed by Cowboys Von Miller, Cowboys agree to terms on deal (official)

From a schematics view, I preferred Bosa. Big body 3-4 End with athletic ability to drop back. His problem is health. Who's to say we don't try to add him to the fold too. If that's the case, then I might be worried about our young guys. Could mean CP is concerned. Von made sense in hindsight for me.

What's next, are they going to dig up Vince Lombardi's corpse and have him mentor Schotty?

Not to pick on the guy because he's still much younger than me, but most pass rushers are done by age 32. Miller is 37.
Do you like ANYTHING about the team? You are so negative bruh…

Let’s not talk about LeBron.
I’m a Rockets fan and I’m still devastated what he did to us in the first round this year. I just knew we had that series and had the nerve to buy tickets for a playoff game. I’m still sick.
Thought y’all had it too especially with no Luka

Von Miller will turbo charge this defense every time he is in rotation. He will bolster our defense by stopping the momentum of opposing offenses in critical times of games.
This is a huge move for Dallas, to improve this pass rush quickly.

Not every team has a Myles Garrett that’ll give you 23 sacks. If you look at the Seahawks last year, they only had 4 guys with more than 3.5 sacks, and all but one were over 29 years old:

DT Byron Murphy (23 years old)
DT Leonard Williams (31)
DE Uchenna Nwosu (29)
DE Demarcus Lawrence (33)

The Cowboys only had 2 guys with more than 3.5 sacks, Clowney (8.5) and Houston (5.5).

Now, we lost Clowney (8.5 sacks) but added Gary (7.5) and Miller (9). We still have Houston. We’ll have full year of Q Williams. And we hope that at least one of the young guys in EZE and Malachi can step up.

Von is insurance of the young guys aren’t ready.

Many posters are done by that age too.

Consider that. :)

Is this going to be our Charles Haley signing for the next dynasty?

I’m blindly going to drink the koolaid. It goes against my better judgement but I need something because I haven’t believed in the cowboys since 2018
NO! Charles Haley was 28 years old when we traded for him in '92 and was still in his prime.

He is probably putting an addiction on his house and needs another million. Since Covid the price for building materials has doubled. Might be able to get marble counter tops now and a bigger pool.

Bringing in Miller. Is it really worth it.
What player will be gone because of this?
It will force them to go short at another position. Or lose a LB.
So I will go with they know what they are doing. Or is this another Jerry bringing In a guy move just to make a splash.

Who goes.
Milton or Howel unless they were already planning on keeping only 2 anyway.
A young WR, unless somehow they keep 6.
Trigg, as they keep only 3 TE's. And no, they will not cut Schoonmaker over Trigg (at this point anyway)

This most likely regardless of any of those other roster choices. Pushes player like Liafau, Barron, Houston off the roster. And no, Williams will before those 3.
does a player like James get cut as well at LB.

Do they go short at DB's I instead.

I don’t hate the move. He will be a nice rotational player and he can mentor the youngins
I keep seeing this posted but does anyone really know if he’s the mentoring type? Does he even know how to teach?

I think many are hoping that his veteran experience just rubs off on the young guys.

Von is currently tied for 9th place in sacks all time, needs 3 sacks to be tied for 6th all time. Needs 12 to be tied for 5th place, so a big jump from 6th to 5th. He had his most productive season in a while last year, hopefully he stays healthy and gets his 9+ this year. He is super motivated.

A two time Superbowl Champion, Hall of Fame lock, 9 sacks last year - what the hell is not to like???
