Von Miller's QB hit and sack rates for 2025

So why didn’t we just resign Clowney?
from my perspective Von is a better locker room addition as opposed to clowney. Von was the much more respected
player and with his leadership abilities this has the potential to be more impactful, plus, clowney was chasing a bigger paycheck and is not loyal to us. Von, wanted to be here in the worst way and is ready to go balls out for the team he always loved... This is a much better sighing than Clowney I'm glad Jerry didn't resign him.

Regardless of what is left in his tank, his knowledge of pass rushing will be more valuable to the DLine in the long run. Hopefully, his presence alone will make those around him better.
His presence didn't do much for the Buffalo and Washington defenses.

He was really good in Buffalo in 2022 but he tore his ACL on Thanksgiving and then didn't really recover in 2023.

He's just a rotational passrusher at this point, not a guy who is going to really elevate a defense by himself. But he should still be good in that role.

Von Miller averaged 14 plays per game in 2025.

He recorded 9 sacks.

Dallas only has 9 sacks on third down the entire year.

That’s not at all true.
Well Parker apparently did not like Clowney so that was part of it probably
yeah miller is probably still going to get more sacks but clowney was a three down player and Miller is a pass rusher only now

The only downside is you're not getting the volume of snaps out of Von Miller that you did with Parsons, but that's okay.

Use him sparingly. With Gary, EZ, Lawrence, and I am guessing Houston the Cowboys can pick and choose when to unleash Miller.

So why didn’t we just resign Clowney?
Of Clowney's 8.5 sacks last year, 4.5 came over the final two weeks, three in the meaningless finale against what the Giants called an offensive line. Based on season-long efficiency, Miller was better than Clowney last year.

Also, at this point in his career, Clowney did not want to play OLB in a 3-4 heavy scheme. I think once Parker got hired it pretty much ended Clowney's time here since he did not fit.

You should have led with that.

Who knows for sure?

But what we do know is that Parker didn’t want Clowney back.

Just a thought but maybe he views Miller as a better team guy and mentor to the younger players?

Miller is holding camps teaching other players how to pass rush.
