Bad: Refs inability to call holding on offensive tackles against our OLBs (there has been at least 12 non-calls in the last 3 games)

I saw at least 3 illegal hands to the face by the Colts Oline and none of them were called

Things you forgot.

Good: Roy Williams in zone coverage.

Bad: Refs inability to call holding on offensive tackles against our OLBs (there has been at least 12 non-calls in the last 3 games)

UGLY: Roy Williams in man coverage.

I thought I saw holding on several plays as well. I may be a homer, but it is rarely called.

Let me fix it by saying this. Dallas couldn't move the defense off the line of scrimage. Generally they just say, <team x> wasn't getting any push off the line. Which is exactly what the Cowboys didn't do. The Colts owned the line of scrimage in the first half. I.E. They were OWNED. Their defense started to tire in the second half. Obviously they were playing with alot of energy and intent on not losing this game. Of course when you raise your physicality to a very high level, you won't be able to maintain that level, which is exactly why the Cowboys started moving the ball in the second half.

I'm not smart enough to figure it out myself but this was described pretty well on another blog. Indy was firing their ends into inside gaps in the first half. Our big tackles just aren't quick enough to react to 250 lb DE's firing gaps. Dallas adjusted at halftime and had the tackles let him go and had the FB pick them up. You won't move people off the line of scrimmage when they are firing gaps.

I agree, the worst was the no-call on the Colts 4th and 2 at the end of the game down on our goal line. Peyton was looking for an interference call on that one. Neither hands to the face (blatant) or interference were called.

I disagree. He did not see it. When Ware shown that he was going to rush, Manning was looking the other way. Then he backed off before Manning looked back to his side. The announcers said he saw it too, but I watched it. He didn't see it coming. Otherwise he would have been more aware of Ware coming. He didn't even look to his side after the ball was snapped.

I remember specifically thinking Manning didn't see him before he backed off even though the announcers said he did. When Manning didn't even keep his peripheral vision on Ware after the snap I knew he didn't see him. There is no way Manning doesn't keep track of Ware if he knows he is rushing.

I think Manning saw it, called a protection, and assumed he could get rid of the ball before Ware got to him. I don't think he realized how fast Ware really is. I could be wrong, but I think I remember him seeing Ware, pointing it out, then trying to throw to the other side.

See I don't think thats the case at all. I've been watching interviews with other teams coaching. (I watched the Colts pre-game report from their website) They spoke about Ware saying how big, strong, and extremely quick he is. Rocky Boiman now plays for the Colts and they ask him about the Cowboys. He told the Colts that DeMarcus Ware is one of the best players he has ever played with.

I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. Regardless, that was a great hit on Captain Regular Season!

This game is exactly how games go when you have a smaller quicker D going against a Bigger Stronger D. At the start of the game the quicker D will usually have the advantage as they are fresh and can move better and it is difficult to move a guy off the LOS when they are hitting gaps and are quicker than you are. However as the game moves on the smaller D's will wear out when a OL that has 30+ lb size advantages continue to lean on you.

Frankly even on straight push plays we were not moving them. No excuse for that at all. I saw most of our O line being stuffed- forced straight up- by the smaller Colt D line. Thats not shooting gaps or trying to react- that is just flat out being physically stood up.
