The defense we took to the Superdome tonight was about as bad as it gets, but we knew that would be the case going in. The fact we couldn't effectively gameplan this offense to help protect the defense and keep us somewhat competitive gives ammo to those believing this coaching staff is a joke.
Lots of bad defenses in the league, some belonging to pretty good clubs. I would hope those units could figure out a way to run more than 43 plays, hold the ball more than 20 minutes, and protect their overmatched defense.
As bad as the defense was, I can at least understand the reasons. The other side of the ball, what is going on there, borders on criminal with regard to how it's managed and executed.
