Am I the only one who not only appreciates what Wade has done for this team, but wishes him back?
Just as with our poor QB, these coaches get to much blame for what should otherwise be put on the 53 men who ultimately decide each games fate.
Everyone wants a coach who fires up the team (and subconsciously us as well), but a true team should derive the bulk of its will to win from each other.
Do you think that when the colts won their super bowl Dungy was the main reason because of his awe inspiring motivation? I bet those teammates loved each other, and played their hearts out for themselves, and more importantly one another.
If this team loves one another and truly wishes to succeed, then a head coaches pep talks are going to pale in comparison.
The only thing that pisses me off about this team is what seems to be a lack of preparation. When I see this I immediately blame wade. However, these forums do a good job of reminding me that lack of preparation is in fact often a lack of execution. Preparation is for the most part the coaches fault, where as execution is a players fault. Whether it is preparation or execution, that's for you to decide.
Since wade has been here this defense has been stellar. It has been stellar not only because of a head coach who prepares and places his players well on the defense, but because those players execute to the best of their ability.
The offense has put up enough yards to were preparation does not seem to be an issue. Executing a one yard run three times in a row to no avail, that's poor execution. So I ask again, is it preparation or execution. You decide.
I think its execution, and I think it is the fault of the 53 men on this roster that we are not 16-0, or 0-16. They control how far this team goes, because I consider these coaches to have done their job to this point.
These players don't need bill Cowher or a video tape of Dungy to win a super bowl. They need to care for each other enough so that they are accountable to one another. They must refuse to let their friends down because they are apart of the TEAM.
This is the first TEAM we've had in many years, in what way does firing a head coach who has led them to success help? I know people will quote this and say, "no playoff success, blah blah blah". I'm sorry but this is where you and I differ. I blame the players, you blame one man because you perceive he is lacking in the motivation department. I'll take a defensive guru over motivation any day.
I'm not saying wade is free from blame, but he has done more than enough good to warrant his return. Despite what I think though, these next games will decide his fate. Fair or not, that is Jerry, and that is business.
