I'm on the fence regarding Wade.

There are many aspects about him I'm not crazy about. But if he gets this team to the Championship Game (at least), you can't argue with success.

I'll wait until the year ends before I start wailing one way or the other.

Well then we will just burn the fence that you're on. :laugh2:

I'll agree that when the camera zooms in on him during a game, the befuddled look is embarrassing and priceless at the same time. It's the ultimate, "how do we manage to **** that up."

He hasn't even coached 3 full seasons yet--which is ususually is the minimum to evaluate fully, imo. We'll see. Even if they make the playoffs, the teams that they will face will be as talented as they are...so it's a flip of the coin if they advance.

He's not a disaster, but I'm not sure he's our guy either. The two whole long seasons (smirk) without a playoff win hurts him...but seriously, it is only two seasons and they did get a bye one year (which is basically a playoff win). I think they otherwise have won more games in his tenure than all but 2-3 teams in the league.

Yeah that "I think I lost my bus pass" look can be embarrassing.

But it's results that matter and if he gets them this year (NFCCG at least), then I'm OK with another year. Jerry then should just pick up his one year option, not give him a long term extension.

What amazes me are these type comments and I'm not bashing you because this is just a drop in the bucket.

Every coach gives that "befuddled" look when a call goes the other way, or perhaps they are awaiting a refs call.

Either way, who hell cares what our coach looks like. Most of these guys are 40 or 50 plus and often in poor shape. Or coach certainly is not the only fat guy roaming the NFL sidelines.

Bottom line is if you gauge the results (how our sideline operates), Wade has to be the smartest idiot on the planet.

Conservatively speaking, I watch 8 out of 10 eagle games. Wade's sideline/in game management and Reid's is like night and day.

For every timeout we burn, the eagles burn 5. For every questionable decision Wade makes, Reid makes 10!

Check out Reid's successful challenge ratio, I guarantee you it's by far the lowest in football.

The next time the eagles make it to a two min warning with all 3 timeouts will be the first.

I think Wade's done a great job with us as HC/DC. It will be a shame if he's fired at seasons end.

But this is a results oriented league. 3 years with this much talent is enough to show at least one deep play-off run.

If we make it to the NFC Championship game, he must be retained.

Anything short of that and all bets are off.

One wild card win and it's a tough call, so I'll back Jerry either way.

Here is a question that has little to do with this thread: Why did wade call a timeout at the end of the 1st quarter last week with 35s left in the quater? Any one else see that? the playclock was a non factor I believe.

And by the way concerning the Oiriginal post, Wade is ok, he should be gone next year though.

If he does not have them prepared for the game this week and they end up losing I think he will be gone. These next two weeks are the test for these Cowboys. I don't think NY is going to lose, if we don't win out we probably won't get in IMO.

And... if we happen not to win this week and somehow the Giants do lose then I think we will have a hard time beatng the Eagles the following week.

I appreciate Wade, and IMO he gets a raw deal because of his personality & appearance. Just because he doesn't resonate "intensity" doesn't mean he cannot get his team to play with such. All of the things that have done Dallas in under his tenure: injuries, penalties, missed assignments, etc. shouldn't be all on his shoulders because, ultimately, it's the players who must execute on the field of play (like the OP stated). The saying "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink" is perfect for WP's situation. I doubt there's been too many situations in which this team has been ill-prepared...it seems to me when they fail it's more on the execution side (meaning on the players' shoulders). I for one do not want this team/staff broken up because I think the potential is there to be special...but I also know that it's easier to fire a coach than it is to change the core of players....

I thought that was odd. One of the few sideline decisions you can question. I do think the play clock may have been short. Problem I have was that it gave the Saints a shot to review the last play upstairs that on first look appeared close.

But he's ultimately responsible for all this. Considering how healthy and talented this team is, we need to make noise in the play-offs or else!

Winning cures everything (this board should be a shining example of that).

We beat an undefeated opponent in the month of December as well.

True...as HC everything falls on him...BUT, he's not on the field blocking, tackling, catching, etc...those fall directly on the players. Even mental breakdowns in coverages or blocking assignments aren't directly on the coaches unless it's something that happens constantly in practice and they're not correcting it (which I seriously doubt). As a coach all he can do is prepare them for any situation they'll encounter on the field and put them in the correct positions...it's on the players to execute the gameplan and follow thru on what the coaches prepared them on throughout the week...
