Wade called off the dogs, would you?

I just wanted McBriar to pooch punt it better. Way too much leg on that one.

It was the smart thing to do for reasons already mentioned in this thread,,, if it had been a 30yd field goal I bet Wade would have kicked it because 3 scores in 2 minutes is unlikely but possible,,, 4 scores in 2 minutes, that is impossible!

Dallas had an opportunity late in the game to add insult to injury by putting more points up yet Wade took the conservative approach even when we were in clear cut FG range Wade had McBrair punt the ball instead of adding the 3. Now honestly myself and people I was watching the game with had no problem of wanting to see Dallas rub Philly nose in it but Wade took the high road.

So how do you guys feel about it

Dallas has always taken the high road in these situations, as much as I wanted them to rub Reid's nose into the dirt. You can bet the 44-6 score is still fresh in my memory. But then, I absolutely, unequivocally, hate the Eagles as a franchise, a team, as players, and as coaches.

I think it's more embarrassing and humiliating to see the other team obviously taking it easy on you than it would be to see them scoring meaningless (scoreboard) points.

This my thought as well. Kind of like kicking a dog when it's down. Having 'mercy' on a opponent that hates you and lays helpless at your feet, is to them much more humiliating.

Does this honestly matter?

The only possible way Philly can get back in the game is with some flukey miracle. Why give them a chance for that?

We beat the crap out of them. The game was over at halftime.

Wade coached a great game yesterday. All our guys did.

Wade is much classier than I would have been.

And I am glad he is representing the Star.

Tom Landry would have been proud.

 Admittance.

I said it and will say it again: Wade is the nicest guy in football.

Speak for yourself. After all of the Star spittings and 44-6 mantras, I would have added insult to injury. C'mon, it's the Eagles.

I also think that Wade was wanting Suisham to go into Minnesota with confidence....Suisham misses a field goal there and then we could have a shaky kicker next week.
I'm not saying Suisham is a sure thing next week, but at least we have him going to Minnesota with a clean game under his belt.

You make a great point.

Wade did the right thing. You don't want to give them any ammo for future use.

I respect Wade even more for his decision. Landry and Dungy proved you can be successful and be a gentleman at the same time.

You bury your opponent. You "step on their throat" as Brooking has said the last few weeks.
We had the chance...........

Not only do i think he did the right thing by backing off, I would have cleared the bench & played every last man I had in order to get as many starters off the field as possible. Why? #1 The game was over... show some class. #2 to prevent injury - the Eagles were desperate and were playing with abandon... see the late hits on Romo in week 17 for examples. #3 to let some of the backups get time in a real game. They may be needed later, and I don't want playoffs/superbowl to be their first time under fire.

Wade's thoughts: I got this defense right where I want it. They aren't scoring on us.

You guys are reading way too much into that. I agree with a few others. The points were not nearly as necessary as field position was. You're near the outside edge of the kickers range. Why give them decent field position with a miss? The problem was the punter doesn't kick them OOBs nearly as well as he does everything else. It was the correct defensive position to take. Wade uses the clock well and manages games well.

^^^^^^ what he said. Those guys off the bench would have been adding insult enough, but to have them score a bunch and run up the score because they were hungry to play would have added injury,:D :D :D :D .

Wade is a high road kind of guy.

Plus given "Kharma" Romo would have probably ruined his ACL while we were kicking them while they were down. We killed them anyway.
