cowboys' fans are the "ex-wives" of fandom, no matter how much you give them, it's never enough.

BECAUSE they have not won it all. Wade has not even come close.

Sorry Hoss but Wade does not make me think we can win it all with him as HC. BP is old news, was pretty much burnt out as coach after 2003. And he built the foundation of this team. Wade was supposed to build on that to win it all. Sorry but he has not even come close. BP was 0-2 postseason and Wade is 1-2 with a MUCH BETTER TEAM. And say what you will we did not end our seasons getting destroyed or losing to teams not as good as we were which is what has happened the last 3 years. So wade has frankly improved very little on BP and THAT IS NOT ENOUGH.

How did it get much better?
You don't believe Wade will win a SB with us fine. Since only one team a year does that, chances are you will be right.
But you can't sit here and say Wade done a poor job, that we've regressed.

This team and more specifically this defense is light years ahead of where it was in 2006.

I personally am not real happy to see Wade back !!! I think with his personallity hes taken us as far as he can. I don't care thta Players like playing for him in my opinion that is not always a good thing because no one holds them accountable and they know that and they like it. I wanted a more stern presence as the Boyz HC.

The man won the NFC East, his 2nd in 3 years. He won a playoff game as Cowboys Head Coach. Something not even a Hall of Famer like Parcells had done.

You actually think he would agree to come back but step aside? Why even entertain that thought when you know it's going to be ridiculous?
Above all, Wade has the support of the players...that counts for a lot IMO.

Of course you can say he did a poor job and of course you can say that this team regressed during his 2nd year after the bar was set so high. This season had more to do with the players coming together like a real true team should. With guys like Brooking, James & Romo taking the reins from Wade, it's easy to see where the leadership was coming from.

I realize that Wade is going to get credit for picking up Brooking this season but there was a reason behind it and that reason had to do with Wade's short-comings as a leader. He needed it to come from within the team and that was successfully accomplished.

But the great 90s teams also had internal leaders on it, too, but make no mistake about it, they still knew who was running the show. And that guy was more successful than Landry (even though I've always felt he was the greatest leader among men).

Regardless, this is most certainly not that great 90s team we all came to love and Wade is certainly not as great a coach as Jimmy.

Yet as great as Jimmy was he could not repeat what he did in Dallas at Miami where he was given the GM and HC job. Wade has no leadership? Says who?

Let's look at this for a second, shall we? Do you think maybe, just maybe, Wade has the support of this team primarily because he's the true definition of a "Players' Coach"?

Because that's exactly what I believe and that's exactly why I think it won't work.

A good head coach is going to have to jump into his star players' <ahem> backside from time to time. He needs to let them know all the time that it's his way or the highway. To not be afraid of benching a player because of a poor attitude or poor performance (e.g. Roy Williams). And above all else, he needs to jump down the throats of his assistant coaches (see Jason Garrett) whenever the players they're responsible for coaching are not performing well.

Wade simply doesn't do that (unless you count him having a cross word or two to say to poor little Campo from time to time). And what makes this even more laughable is the fact that before this season was to begin, Wade happily announces to the media that he's going to be more assertive this season, you know...like a Wade2point0.

Well was he? Huh? I didn't see it. He just looked like the same ol' moonface we've all come to love...

...to hate. ;)

Wade is 33 - 13 as a Head coach in Dallas....

Ok i am not a Wade supporter but all bias aside.

Out of those 13 losses.

13-3 season, a bye - then a devasting loss to a team we beat twice and should have beat them the third time.

Win and you are in - crushing defeat to the Eagles

Playoff game this year - we look like we dont belong.

Everyone keep going on the quantity of victories if that makes you feel better. But just remember when it counts and the team needs to show up - WE LOSE. Each and every time. (The Eagles were a horrible team this year, dont get too excited about beating them).

That's a great point which adds further proof to how great Jerry was as a GM. Together they were the envy of the NFL, apart...well...you know the rest of the story.:(

Stupid, freakin' egos :bang2: :banghead: :bang2:

I forget sometimes that I should care about what you think. I'd make myself a note to remind me, but I'd forget where I put it.

1 wildcard playoff win in the last 13 years.

Yep, just a bunch of spoiled fans. I mean, shouldn't that be good enough?

Hos, as much as I respect you as a gifted and intelligent writer, I can't help but think that you're saying this in order to convince yourself. It's like I mentioned before to another poster, you're putting lipstick on a pig and trying to sell us on the idea that it's the prettiest girl in the room.

Good to see a few on here actually get it, and not just try to pump shineshine up everyone's ***.
