Thought he said they were emphasizing checking down as well as going down the field -- going to Barber or Felix in space.

BTW, The Fan's audio is excellent, much better than the official site's. You can actually hear the questions.

Wade asked about Spears trade possibility, with some lukewarm praise for the player IMO.

ok, let me get this straight, i didnt listen to wade's press conf, but you have to sometimes take what wade says with a grain of salt, because he will protect his players or cover up for them like he did with folk last year, and kept sticking with him when he shouldnt have, sometimes a head coach has to come down heavy on a player, so he knows its not fun time or you better take football serious

so did bennett injure his ankle at the practice field, or did bennett injure it doing something on his own?

seems like to me, if was injured at practice field, we would have heard about it, and bennett would have had to take treatment for it right away

so, how did bennett injure his ankle

I meant it couldn't have been an official team practice, because they haven't been able to do that this time of year. But they can still go work out on their own.

Players are allow to workout at the team facility, but coach are not allow to interact or coach them during that time.

ok, well seems like i may have stuck my big foot in my mouth again, and was wrong on bennett, if he hurt himself at practice for football thats a different story,

still seems like if he was at practice though and hurt himself, trainers should have noticed, or bennett get treatment as soon as it happened

if that part is true about bennett hurting himself due to practicing football at cowboys complex, thats different, so wont be the first time, i have to eat some crow if true, or stuck my 8 1/2 shoe in my mouth;

Not even talking about Bennett at all. He may tripped on a cord at his house and sprained his ankle. No big deal.

But I hate when Wade always throws up the defensive preemptive strike BS with something rosey about a player as he's giving an answer.

Just answer the freaking question.

Everyone who covers the team that hears this is rolling their eyes. We understand Wade loves his players and protects them. But at some point he needs to stop doing for certain guys.

Do you guys honestly think Wade has ever sat down in a meeting with Marty B and gave him a good 'get your mind right' son talking to in the last two seasons?

Nah. That's never happened. It should have though. And not for anyone's benefit other than Marty B.

I would like to see Wade let some of these guys walk around for a minute or two on egg shells. Instead he runs up head them on every step trying to remove anything in their way.

Kind of like a parent who never wants to let his kid get some tough love.

I am not saying to come out today and start railing against the player, but don't give us the horse **** about him working out last week in the heat. The two things were completely unrelated and we know this because he's on the Non Football Injury list.

If this was Tony Romo we wouldn't need the preemptive strike crap because the guy isn't known as a knucklehead. I just don't think Wade is helping the kid by doing that.
