They also play in the worst division in football. So Romo is guaranteed playoffs in Houston

But doubt the Texans shell out the money for Tony with Brock under contract
They can dump Brock after next year with minimal consequences. (6M dead money).

It's not that he's a great coach he's a good coach but when you lose your defensive coordinator (Wade is a very good defensive coordinator, you're foolish if you think otherwise) AND your head coach that is something free agents are going to pay attention to. If you want to live in your own little world and pretend like coaches mean nothing go ahead, your opinion is not that of the entire worlds no matter how much you argue it.

On top of it all, The Broncos offensive line is absolutely terrible.

It'll be interesting to see what Romo commands this offseason. He's probably worth 20 million but maybe he's willing to play for cheap if it's a team he likes. His Cowboy deal doesn't have much guarantee left so it's not as if he will lose 20 million a year to go somewhere else.

What exactly is left in Denver for Romo to want to go there? Kubiak retired, Wade gone, Ware is probably going to be his last season if he even plays next season. There's still some talent there though and maybe it depends on the coach that they hire.

As I've said before I believe Romo should strongly consider the Texans, good receiving core good rb #1 defense. I believe they are at least in the mix with Romo as QB because that is their main weakness.

Looks like that makes the most sense or just accept a pay cut and stay as the backup here.

I cant think of another viable destination for him. He may be better off sitting tight and see how the season plays out next year. If a QB goes down, another contending team may trade for him.

The Washington Commanders front office was planning to meet with former head coach Wade Phillips about the team’s defensive coordinator job Friday evening, according to a source with knowledge of the search process.

But Phillips, whose defensive acumen was critical to the Denver Broncos’ victory over the Carolina Panthers in last season’s Super Bowl, is believed to be weighing an offer to become defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams. And it’s possible he could accept that offer before sitting down to talk with the Commanders for the second time in three years about their vacancy.

The Rams on Thursday hired Commanders offensive coordinator Sean McVay as their new head coach, signing the 30-year-old to a reported five-year deal.

Phillips, 69, a former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Broncos, would be at least the third candidate to interview for the Commanders defensive coordinator job since Joe Barry was let go the week after the Commanders ended their 2016 season with a lackluster 19-10 defeat to the New York Giants that shut them out of the playoffs and left them with an 8-7-1 mark.
