I agree its better to hold out comment like the love fest that was over in Arlington before the season, new coach ,players coach ,yada yada yada..

I was just wondering what you guys think of Wade so far. I know the season hasn't started so there isn't very much to judge him on, but i like him so far. The players definately seem to like the change and there seems to be a much better attitude throughout the team. I must say i like how involved he is, and how more is open to the media for us fans.

anyway, there was a lot of unhappy people when wade was named head. Has anyone changed their mind?
I am at least glad we got someone who is a defensive guru, and knows the 3-4, because I believe the pieces for effective decision making on offense are in place.

Here's a question ...how can someone call Wade Phillips the "anti-Parcells" ...then turn around and say they respect the Tuna?

Listen, win, lose or draw, Bill Parcells has the respect of this Eagle's fan.

I also believe that Wade Phillips is on the bubble. Poor guy was at a disadvantage coming into the inherited position. Bill Parcels probably needed one more year working cohesively with the team to make the final preparations to re-open Dallas' window.

Regardless of what franchise you're talking about, the players ...and GM must support the head coach if the team is to become successful.

If Wade isn't successful this year, I really don't believe Jerry is going to tolerate additional attempts.

For me, I can respect a person and still disagree with him. I respect his accomplishments in the years before he came to the Cowboys and also the fact that he has rebuilt this team into a potential winner but I disagree with his on-field and gametime decisions the last few years. I felt his personality changes combined with his innate stubborness (Stubborness is a virtue only if you are right.) stiffled the team's attitude and that he lost them as a result.
I have no doubt the deaths among his family and friends had an effect on him.

With the players fading out on him and the assistant coachers bailing out on him, I doubt another year or two would have mattered. It was time for him to go and I am at peace with that, though disappointed as I thought he would take the team all the way when he got here.

I still respect him but he became a square peg that didn't fit the round hole and he no longer has any business coaching but can still make other contributions. I think he deserves to be in the HOF but I'm glad to see Wade here and I think his more open style can take this team to a better record.

I agree Wade is on the bubble and has to have a winning record his first year but if he does, I think Phillips gets another year or two to take the team to the house. If he doesn't, the Red Prince is waiting in the wings for his big break.
