I just realized that everytime I watch a Cowboys game, highlights, etc., I entirely forget that Wade is the head coach.

I don't know if it's because Parcells was such a media "darling" during his tenure here and now we have the polar opposite in Phillips or if we all know that Jason Garrett is really the head coach in the fan's minds. Seriously, Phillips has the easiest coaching job in the NFL.

He probably knows that Garrett is waiting in the wings and that this might be either a catapult to another head coaching job with more power or it's a great way to go out on top.

Either way, the talent that Phillips has now reminds me of the Switzer era. Not to say that this team is any better/worse than that team, but there are strange similarities between the two.

For some reason, Wade is not in the forefront when I think of the Cowboys.

Am I alone here?

I think Wade has done a very good job and his players believe in him and what they are doing. He has these guys producing at high level.

Parcells talked about not being "a celebrity quarterback."

But Parcells was a celebrity coach. As was Jimmy Johnson. Landry was, too, but not because of his personality -- more his success and style.

This franchise is full of celebrities, from the top (Jerry Jones) on down. There are even wanna-be celebrities -- guys like Patrick Crayton, an average NFL player who manages to make headlines and do ESPN interviews and chats.

When Dave Campo got the head coaching job at Dallas, he immediately changed his hairstyle and got rid of his glasses. He was trying to look the part, IMO. If he could have made himself taller, I'm sure he would have.

But Wade Phillips doesn't have a pretentious bone in his body. He is a football coach. That's it. He doesn't pretend to be anything else. He will gladly let everyone else be in the spotlight. "We're all 13-3," he would say.

When I watch the offense, I think it's Tony's show. A monkey could call that offense. When I watch the defense, I think of Wade. Garrett rarely enters my mind when watching a game.

I have to say I think of Garrett. But then I thought about Norv Turner when Jimmy was here. Jason did a very good job in his 1st year as an OC and I hope that continues. As for now Wade Phillips is the HC no ands if's or buts’ about it and should get credit and or blame for the job he does just like any HC in the NFL.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's Wade's team but his laid back approach has me at times not thinking he's on the sidelines.

I would agree that I think more of Wade when the defense is on the field.

Wade is quite, but effective and the players seem to respond to him. However, if he does not win a playoff game this year....all bets are off!

Wade father Bum had laid back approach. I don't think there is any one right way to get the job done. Main thing is do the players buy into what they are doing and in this case I think this team does believe in Wade.

Just wow. I couldn't disagree more.
