Do you honestly think that Crayton cannot play any position but the #3?nyc;1568880 said:Not if he has trouble learning more than one position which seems to be the consensus right now.

Not sure how asking a simple question is having bias glasses on...but hey, whatever works for you.nyc;1568929 said:I can play a #2, but that doesn't mean I would be good at it. I'm not bashing Crayton here, but take the bias sunglasses off. He has shown flashes of great play, but he hasn't exactly been a consistent dominating factor. If he is was next in line to be a #2, then you would see him getting some work at #2. He doesn't. He works at #3 all the time.
Maybe Randal Williams has jaded me, but I need to see real production before I project him as a future staple.CATCH17;1568942 said:We stayed healthy at the receiver position and the game he played in we didnt miss a beat.
Also he was barely 21 in training camp last year. He played division 1 college ball at 17.
He knew almost every position out there and had the attitude to turn himself into a good cover guy on special teams.
He wants to be good and hes doing everything he possibly can to get there.
IF he keeps the same effort he will be a Dallas Cowboy for many years to come because he is developing very nicely.

I just find it hard to believe that he could not play #2...my guess would be that since teams go 3 WR so much they view him as a starter by proxy, that is why he and the staff focus on him as the #3 guy. Hopefully this is not too much of a homer post.

nyc;1569033 said:Parcells said last year that even if their was an injury that Crayton would NOT become a starter. With Glenn being out in TC and Crayton remaining the #3 with Hurd taking over for Glenn seems to suggest the same thing this year. Parcells noted and someone else mentioned this year that the reason he will not move from the #3 spot is because he would have to learn a new position and they didn't think he could do that while working at #3.
Don't shoot the messenger, I didn't make that claim. I was damn happy the Cowboys made him a (second round?) tender in the off-season. My comments are solely based on what others have said.

In the end it's all speculation. Parcells is no longer the coach as you noted, but neither are either of us and as they say. Actions speak louder than words. All of Crayton's actions have been as the third wide receiver even when the #2 spot opened up.
