All I remember about the 06 season is we looked pretty good in the first half of the season, but it sure went downhill in December when we couldn't beat anybody -- no matter what their record. And while the Cowboys win and lose as a team, our defense sure didn't help much at the end.
This season we start 3-0 with wins over the Giants, Dolphins & the 07 NFC champs--the Bears--doing so by leading the NFC in points scored. But our defense, with 3 missing starters, remains a concern which hopefully we can improve upon as they become more familiar with his scheme and we get our injuried players back.
I think most of us will have much better feel for where this team is at after next 2 games. We won't have to wait until the end of the season. If our team remains focused and doesn't swallow the junk in the media about how easy Rams will be, and probably same for Bills, we go 5-0. When was last time a Cowboy team went 5-0 to start the season? That should give us a huge lead over other NFC teams and East division rivals. If we can't do that, we fall down to earth as maybe a good team but not an elite team.
