Not a bad thought, really. Lot of smoke there about Jerry's interest in Fisher for there not to be a little fire.

As much as people like Jeff Fisher, I don't think they could tolerate the number of years he's had mediocre records with the occasional "good" season.

In 16 years as a coach, he's had 6 winning seasons.. He'd be run out of town after the first back to back 8-8 season.

Garrett, and this is a big reason Wade is back IMO (not the only reason but a big reason). If Jerry thought Garrett was ready he would hand it over...I think Jerry knows Garrett is not ready. We have all seen this before though, when Jerry sets his mind to something, for good or bad, it will happen. Jerry long ago set his mind to Garrett being the next HC. No new HC will be brought in because that would mean Garrett would go at the same time Jerry sees that Garrett is no where new ready...thus its easier to keep Wade...

Yep, Garrett showed this year that he is not ready for prime time. So, Wade gets another 2 seasons while Garrett gets some more OTJT.


As for Fisher, get real. In his 16 seasons he has had a non-losing season only 6 times. So roughly 63% of the time he loses more games than he wins.

He wouldnt last till the water got hot in Dallas.

I think its probably Garrett too, but dont buy into your theory.

He kept Wade because Wade's doing a good job, and because the defense (which is why Wade was hired over Norv Turner) is becoming a dominant unit.

Once the team showed they could win some big games late in the season, made the playoffs and won a game there, there was no reason to do anything different. Wade earned the right the stay, he isnt staying because Jones couldnt get someone else or had no confidence in Garrett.

I agree. I think Fisher is not a bad coach but if people put the same standard on Fisher as they do Wade I think it would only be a short period of time that they would call for his head.
