Some people do not understand what is meant by "Walk the Dog."

This term is primarily used when running backs go into the end zone untouched.

This is why I was a little surprised when Brad Sham used is in Seattle for Murray.
He was in the clear, but had to lower his shoulder to go through Richard Sherman.

Maybe Murray used Sherman as the front door to "Walk the DOG!"

BTW - Brad Sham did use that term ten years ago when Tyson Thompson went into the end zone untouched in the 45-14 win in Tennessee - the game where Gurode got stomped on by Haynesworth earlier in the game.

Brad sham has used that line several times this year so far. I believe he said it in the Saints game , but not sure about any others.

Murray is a equal opportunity punisher.

Haha. No doubt man. Ya know, I'm a Big 12 guy, and when I watched Murray at OU, I was always impressed with his abilities, but I never noticed or really thought Murray was a punishing RB. Since breaking onto the scene with the Cowboys, he seems to relish lowering his helmet and shoulder pads and blowing up would-be tacklers.

Randle blew up Sherman once too. The entire team is playing more physical.

Murray punished Sherman at least twice. Chancellor wasn't immune to it either.

Sherman got punished all game long. On the very last Murray run, he destroyed Sherman. Sherman made the tackle but got up with his shoulder all droopy. That one looked like it hurt. LOL.

Yeah, the Cowboys have admitted as much too. I agree, I'm a Sooners fan and had no idea Murray had that physicality to his game (but I knew he was going to be awesome). Guess he was too busy running by and around college defenders, didn't need to lower the shoulder much. LOL.

"Walk the dog" is Sham's way of saying "this is too easy."

The Cowboys were destroying Seattle with the run that fourth quarter.

I loved every minute of it. I wonder how many times they showed that stupid "I'm the best..." Sherman commercial while the Cowboys beat down the Seahawks? Poor Seahawks fans.

I could not believe that we were able to steal Murray in the 3rd round. I was stunned. But watching him at OU, he was pretty much the OU offense. Just seemed more finesse in college. Extremely productive though.

Yup, he was so smooth that many folks mistakenly thought he was slow. When I saw his forty time, I was like "game on." The key to being a successful running back in the NFL is having the ability to change direction without losing speed. It is a rare gift -- it is one that Emmitt had and Murray has it too.

Thomas also.

Have you seen this week's Inside the NFL? It's awesome, they have an isolated shot of Thomas and the narrator talks him up as the best safety in the NFL. Right when he finishes talking, Dez comes flying into view and runs him over. It was some funny stuff. LOL.

dont feel bad, the experts at nfln didnt either it would seem.

experts lol

Overview
Murray is an explosive athlete that has a chance to develop into a featured back in the NFL, but he has a lot of miles on his tires. He runs very well and has an extra gear to take it to the house when he gets a seam. His high cut frame gives him the look of a wide receiver and his precise route running and soft hands make him a weapon on third down. He does not have the power to push the pile, and has missed a lot of time due to injury. Murray will probably be a second day pick.

Analysis
Strengths
Murray is tall with a muscular build. Possesses great burst and the top end speed to break the long one. Strong runner that consistently finishes runs and falls forward. Excellent receiver that can get big chunks of yards after the catch. Very capable blocker in pass protection.

Weaknesses
Does not have the vision to consistently find open lanes and looks to bounce the ball outside too soon. Runs a bit high and lacks the power to get the difficult yards between the tackles. Lacks the agility to always make the first man miss in the hole. Has struggled to stay on the field.

I think the Cowboys showed how to play Sherman, don't fear him, go right at him, hit him, punish him. Wonder if other teams will try it too. Of course need the guys to do it, which we have. I think other teams do to, they just needed to be shown how it can be done.
Hit the loud mouth bully, punch him in the mouth, he will back down. LOL
