Want to hear something sad?

But we WERE one of those good teams.

You have your opinion, I have mine. I can't submit that the Cowboys didn't deserve the playoffs at 7-3 after finding ways to win against some very good teams. That 21-20 win against the Eagles at *basically* full strength, the season opener, the 49ers game... this team was in the top 5 of ESPN's power rankings after week 11.

I think the late-season collapse had more to do with the Cowboys not exploiting other team's weaknesses than anything else. I refuse to believe that going 2-4 over the last six games of the season was merely because of the teams we played.

Did you not see the teams absolutely embarrassing Tucker & Pettiti? Do you think talent doesn't matter? Frankly, I would be a bit embarrassed if I were Carolina for not exploiting that weakness more successfully.

BTW - if you are using the Niners game and ESPN Power Rankings as your primary evidence... I think I'd use the first Eagles game as evidence before the 2nd one where we lucked out (a la Washington) and got a pick to score late in the game and then barely survived the Eagles scramble for FG position - remember Reeves late pass breakup?

You can't just point to our successful games as the real Cowboys and dismiss the others as underachieving. IMO, we are what we are, 9-7.

Are we?

Maybe.

But I thought we were better than the Rams too.

I didn't watch Miami play but I respect what Saban has apparently done to get to 9-7.

I'm not embarrassed to be 9-7. We COULD have done better with better tackles but that happened in the offseason and when Flo went down. Not in the last 6 games.

Which suburb did you move from?

Funny thing is, alot of people are starting to move back to Dallas as there a huge revitalization of the city downtown...building condos and hotels everywhere.

Tell that to the Rams, what was their record?

What does this have to do with the combined record of the teams played by us and miami in the last 6 games?

I live off of Frankford and Marsh

My aunt lives off of Marsh and Keller Springs. Small world. I used to visit some until she and my uncle both had massive strokes. Her family still lives in the area so they take care of her, we had to bring my Uncle back here to NC to take care of cause the whole family still lives here- he died in 04.

BTW, for the full season

Cowboys opponents' record: 134-122 (8th toughest)

Phins opponents' record: 117-139 (4th easiest)

That's why they'll be picking 2 spots ahead of us in the draft.

Cowboys' record through Week 11: 7-3
Miami Dolphins record through Week 11: 3-7

Cowboys final record: 9-7
Fins final record: 9-7

:bang2:

Sad for both teams, however, I don't give a hoot about the phins!

So when the Rams AND Cowboys have nothing to play for the Rams are better?

The Rams had know they were out of playoffs for weeks, The Cowboys found out an hour before the game.

I dont get it. We flip-flopped halves. Big deal. We played better teams in second half. Miami played crappy teams.

Really

Man, Mckinney is a pretty quiet place up there. Funny, I have a college buddy named JoshLitt who is a moderator on another board that lives there.

Small world, I tell you.

Im just saying, they finished the season really strong.

I dont want to jump to the conclusion that we could beat them if we laced it up and played.

Heck, which Cowboys team would show up?

And if the Raiders can beat us and the 49ers can go toe-to-toe with us, anything is possible  .

Just think. If we had a kicker who could make field goals, we'd have won our division.
