Want to know how much Zach Thomas can help our offense?

Read lot of articles detailing the time Thomas has spent studying Cowboys defensive film/Charger defensive film to get as good as he can as quickly as possible. He's already made a big impression on Bradie James, Bobby Carpenter & Tank Johnson. Last week our offense ran 2 fake reverses but Thomas didn't bite on either; later we ran the reverse & he tackled the player for a 2 yard loss.

But I want to know how he can help our offense, specifically Romo's game. Thomas certainly studied our offense before we played the Dolphins last year. Just think a 13 year astute defensive star like Thomas brings a prospective lacking at least since Dat retired.

Understand Romo just needs to continue to work hard cause much of his improvement will come as he gains more field experience. After all, that's why younger QBs grow so much in their first 3-5 years. Also realize the coaching staff is doing everything possible to groom Romo to become a SB winning QB as quickly as possible. Romo's great play for most of the season is a testament to him, to the coaching staff & to our other great offensive players. Just hoping the coaching staff takes advantage of every avenue to improve our play on both sides of the ball.

The contribution Thomas will bring to the offense is by getting the other offense off the field. I doubt Thomas is going to be able to give Jason Garrett any information he does not already know about.

That's about the size of it.

A defensive player that studies as intensely as Thomas might be able to point out body language tendencies that tip off what play is coming.

I hear that Zack can also kick, punt and play offensive lineman if needed. Also, I heard he can, if Garrett is in a tough situation, bail him out with plays he can diagram on the sidelines.
All this while on the side he is working for world peace and developing a vaccine for various diseases.
Boy Howdy, this man Zack can do it all!

:D

I have to admit ol' GimmeTheBall's schtick has improved.

It use to only be funny to see how mad he would get when he was criticized but recently his jokes have actually been funny :).

Well, thank you, I think.

Truly, I like Zack. He seems to have his head on straight and all.

I guess I should direct my sarcasm more at his fans who think he is God's gift to the NFL and now to the Cowboys.

I would love to be proven wrong and that Zack becomes a monster on our defensive team (not offense, hee-haw), but his age and injuries worry me. And the fact a bad team would just let him walk also troubles me.
Again, I would love to eat crow on this one.

C'mon Zack, prove me wrong.:D

I doubt he is going to be giving tips to Jason. If Thomas is going to give tips chances are it will be to guys like Brady James but Garrett has played QB and understand what he is seeing from different players add to that coaches more than players constantly review film on the teams they will be facing so chances are what Jason needs to know he will find out from reviewing teams.

Ok... I get it... you "doubt".... twice as a matter of fact....

Who is to say that Zach cant give Garrett "something" from last years game when Garrett ran the offense against the Dolphins?

You can doubt it all you want... but its possible.

They say that Zach also uses the same TP that Chuck Norris uses:

It is common sense, Garrett is not going to seek advice on how to run his offense and attack other teams off what Thomas says and I doubt Thomas is going to be going to Garrett to tell me this. Is it possiable anything is possiable but this is highly doubtful. These post really get far fetched. Thomas will be working with the defense and if he is going to pass along advice I would say it will be with James and the other LB an area that Thomas really is a bit of an expert but I doubt he knows what Garrett wants to do on offense call it a wild guess on my part.
