Want to re-evaluate Jacques Reeves & Nate Jones?

Dude was terrible at just about everything.

He was good at getting smacked in the face by #12 and manufacturing a personal foul penalty. That's about it. :D

Two years ago when Henry had his abdominal issues Reeves came in and played rather well. Last year he kind of disappeared as he got little to no playing time but he had some arm issues apparently. i actually expected him to come out and play well this year if he was healthy.

can only say one thing about Reeves, it's time. Time to show something.

Reeves with too much of a cushion on that 4th down conversion.

People tend to forget that Reeves is one of the fastest players on the Cowboys. He was a track star at Purdue.

I can tell you guys that Jacque is a good-sized corner w/ speed, and as Wade just said today, doesn't give up many plays, doesn't make many either, but that's better than giving up plays and not making plays

Nate Jones on the other hand is limited athletically, according to Parcells, but according to Parcells and the scouts and coaches this year, gets it done w/ preparation and smarts and doesn't make mistakes
sounds like newman

Well we'll see this year....push comes to shove a cb's first duty is coverage. And I doubt either Bill or Zim ever let Tnew forget it.

You can take a whole lot more risks when you are confident in those around you.

Tnew appeared to play it close to the vest for good reason.

its a risk reward type thing. newman looks like he doesn't want to take the risk. sometimes you gotta and you could end up with a great reward. just don't go dangelo hall on me bitin on the wrs 1st move ever play;)

Then again, Newman gets so few chances to even take a risk.

it's like that when they're scared to throw on ya. :)

I'll let AH take the risks - Educan is gonna dog him either way.

i hear ya but if new wants to mentioned with the champ baileys (like he said he wants too) he has to make a play on the ball. tnew has playmaker written all over him. with wades 34 causeing quick pressure, now is the time to jump some route's and make some plays

There's a nice play at 7:36 in the 2nd quarter showing Reeves' coverage ability. It's an out route that shows his ability to change direction. He had his hips turned ready to go deep with the receiver and then as the receiver cuts his route outside, Reeves makes a nice adjustment and is in position to make a play on the ball. It was overthrown, but if it was on target, Reeves would have been in position to either swat at it or go for the INT.

Reeves is talented. I'm not sure why everyone is so down on him. BP thought he could start in the league a few years ago, maybe even last year.

I feel fine with Reeves playing more. Not so much Jones...

I wonder if Phillips would be interested in adding one of his old SD CB's Sammy Davis, who was just cut today by the Bucs. He wouldn't offer more than Reeves would so I dunno.

a player who according to the coaches and scouts does nothing wrong

can't go wrong there
doesnt do much right either

Plaxico Burress was Aaron Glenn's b**** a couple years ago in New York.

Two years ago is a generation in this sport.

There haven't been many successful 35+ year-old CB's in the NFL... And from what we saw this preseaon A. Glenn was not going to join their ranks.
