Great finish to a 17 game roller coaster of a season ends with our cowboys as NFC East champs and the #2 seed. The NFL once again reminds us that it takes an entire 17 games to decide playoff seeding. No team is crowned in October. Lots to savor about this season, but we all know what happens in the playoffs is where teams are really defined.

I really appreciated what Dak said after the win last night in the post game interviews, ”We’ve won the division before. Obviously it’s a huge accomplishment for the team, the organization, but I want something better.’’

Amen. We all want something better.

We have waited 28 years to win a divisional playoff game and with that #2 seed, this team is poised and capable to at least do that. This season will ultimately be defined by what happens the next few weeks.
  • Respect is earned in the playoffs, not the regular season. We have a chance to earn that.
  • Great teams are defined by playoff wins (PLURAL) We have a chance to do that.
  • For the first time in 3 decades, this team has made the playoffs 3 years in a row. They SHOULD win multiple playoff games.
No excuses. Don’t care who we play, where we play, who the refs are, or what breaks we get or don’t get. Just win! This team has enough to at the very least make the NFC championship game. Do at the very least THAT, and this season will be remembered as special.

We all want something better. Let’s go get it Cowboys!!!!

I look at it like this: Am I happy that we won the division and have the #2 seed in the playoffs? Yes. I am always happy for the team and it's players. Do I want more? Also yes, but it's not going to stop me from being happy with the accomplishments as they come. I have discussions with people and other fans and I will talk about how, for example; thinking Bland should be the front runner for DPOY earlier in the season and I will get it thrown in my face: "You haven't won in the playoffs in 28 years." Yeah well.... there's nothing my team can do about that yet... well now it's finally time again that we can. Dak threw the most TD's in the league this year, my being excited or happy about what a Cowboys player has done doesn't mean I'm ok with 28 years of no NFC title games. One step at a time.

I am a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, I'm allowed to be happy in the moment:

But now I am ready to see what we can do and hope we can make some noise, if we don't make it to the NFC title game this time... I will be right there talking about 29 years and being upset about it. This team feels different though, despite a few hiccups during the season, so until I'm proven wrong I'm full homer mode for these playoffs.

They are in a very good spot. Enjoy the ride. I have good feelings about this year and next year.

Well said. I have really enjoyed the ride this season. I am thrilled we won the east and got the #2 seed. But ultimately I want more and I think this team can get it.

Bob is a foxhole guy if you haven’t figured that out yet.

all the stars are aligning just right for this team to at least make a appearance in NFCG. I myself have enjoyed this season immensly and I hope the playoffs bring positive results. If they dont Ill lose 0 sleep.Ill be pissed for a day or so than move on depending on how it happens.

Defense and Oline are my concerns in playoffs.Run the ball and stop the run. protect your QB

We've all entered this season -- players and coaches included -- with the understanding that it's all about playoff success.

It was a fun regular season, but most importantly, we hope it was a regular season that positions us for a tremendous run into February.

My take…

Skeptical with this group. After 29 years it’s hard not to be. That said being in the playoffs brings hope and a chance. I love Wildcard and Divisional playoff weekends. So much good football. Great to be a part of it. Having a home game to start is just huge. I think Dallas would have won anywhere but they are a much better home team plus it sets them up going forward. No excuses this weekend. I don’t care about the Packers being hot. They beat scrubs. The KC and Detroit wins were solid but this team lost to a few bad team this year. Defensively they are pretty good but besides the run game anyone worried about their offense? This should be at least a 2 touchdown win. The Dallas Cowboys are set up. No excuses. Should be fun.

Really I'm not even reading past your first line because you started out you're not confident you're skeptical with this group,

this group hasn't played the last 29 years,

this group has only been together one year the roster is ever changing the coaching Staffs rearranged,

it's a week-to-week league and at worst it's a year to year league so stop bringing up 27 to 30 years nobody can seem to agree on how long it's been but stop it just stop it this is a new Group A new year, and everything starts Sunday at 3:30 PM hoping for a better ride this year...

That's all you can ask for is a chance.. But putting 29 years on the shoulders of this current team is ridiculous I'm really sick of it let it go..

... With the way that Dak is playing, I can see these guys getting to the championship game.
But one game at a time.

As has long been the case here...

There is a group whose standards are that even IF the Cowboys lost in the first round would still see this as a successful season.

The other group sees it as another wasted season.

Just depends on what your opinion is of success as it relates to the Dallas Cowboys.

The lack of winning any playoff games for so long has even compromised some to lower their standards over the years.

Your one liner respect is earned in the playoffs has always summed me up.
Regular season results does next to nothing for me.

Amen. Can’t say it enough - “Respect is earned in the playoffs”.

After the way the season was starting to look there for a couple times this season, I am absolutely stoked we are in the position we are in.

I reeeeeeaaaaaaally hope this team takes advantage.

I keep telling myself that the universe can't keep holding the Boys down forever. Let it be this year we ride back into greatness.

Now the real football starts. Practice time (Regular season) is over. Put up or shut up, Cowboys. Win and get respect from the fans, the media, your peers. Lose and prove to them that you're still soft.

Just win it, Cowboys. Man up and reach deep and seize victory.

I think the Rams are going to beat the Lions. I think the Eagles are going to squeak one out against the Bucs.

This means the Cowboys would play the Eagles in the divisional round while the Rams play the 49ers.

I think the Rams have a chance against the 49ers.
