Wasn't bad at all. They should make a StarCraft movie. I still play brood war. Be awesome if they remastered it

That would be awesome. The original Starcraft and brood war storylines were sweet. RIP Kerrigan and Fenix (twice.) Don't know how much it has changed since Starcraft 2 other then making a love story about Jim Raynor and Kerrigan.

The interaction and "history" they had was more of comrade and fighting corruption/the end of the world, there was no love there, but I guess you could argue there would be sparks when you are in life/death situations. It would be awesome to see the rise and fall of Kerrigan and the Terran. Nonetheless, i think it would be a good movie if the story isn't butchered drastically.

I'd be more interested in a series about Drizzt/Icewind Dale than Warcraft, and I'm a big Warcraft fan (played all the games, including years of WOW).

Actually, I'd love to see Drizzt and Icewind Dale/Forgotten Realms done GOT style as a series.

This ........ a hundred times this.

1,000x this. I've got you beat 10x to what your want is. You should just give up now. :)

EDIT: Though I must say. It might not be Tyion during his heyday. When he was running the show, nothing beat Tyrion!

I'm not either as long as it's not over-done. (like many of the Transformer movies)

The movie last night was a bit difficult to watch. I actually fell asleep during the last part of it. Though I was wiped out tired last night when I got home and I had already re-watched GoT too. I had a feeling I wasn't going to make it all the way through the movie anyhow. I may try again.

The Transformers movies probably use less CGI than they would under a different director. There obviously has to be a lot due to the fact that it's transforming robots we're talking about, but Bay values practical effects more than most probably do.

Transformer battle scences. /argument over.

If I have to defend this. You're just being argumentitive.

There's a difference between using CG because it's the only possible way to create something, and CG being excessive. CG is excessive when it is used unnecessarily. At least in my opinion. TF uses a lot of CG, but not really more than is required for what is going on.

Welcome to the minority. While the first movie was good, the city battle scene was a bit excessive. The other movies. Yeah. way more than excessive. Though that is always Bay's way right? King Kong Anyone?

Do you have a suggestion of how to do large fighting robots that transform into various vehicles in another way (and the first movie might be the worst - the 4th gives it a good run for the money)?

King Kong?

The battle scenes in the city were too many moving things. (I bet that was a complete ***** to render) I like the fighting robots. I have no issue with that.

I think he values effects in general, dude loves blowing stuff up.

I do agree with Sam that the battle scenes in Transformers was just too much. Too difficult to follow what was happening, and he wanted impossible speed in those interactions for things that big.

Pacific Rim kind of nailed the giant robots fighting stuff, but Bay isn't the type of director that can slow things down the way Pacific Rim did and still find excitement. He wants things going 100 miles an hour all the time.

Agreed he loves blowing things up, but he values doing it in the real world and using cg only where necessary.

As for the speed, most of them weren't all that big, certainly tiny compared to the robots in PR (which I thought was a pretty awful movie with dull and not very intelligent or well presented action - The end being an incomprehensible mess and much more difficult to follow than anything in TF, not that TF films are all that great). The only robot in the TF films that was comparable in size moved very slowly as well.

But the issue of too much on screen with too much movement, is a different issue from excessive CGI.

I agree that Rim wasn't good, think the media gave the benefit of the doubt ot Del Toro since he's a good director. I disagree that the action was hard to follow, it wasn't a good movie and the script was terrible, but I could follow what was happening.

I'm specifically talking to the underwater part at the end. It wasn't edited well.

Damn you Count. I was all ready to go watch this Pacific Rim movie, then you poop'ed all over it.

You should still watch it. I can't even count the number of "not good" movies I've watched and enjoyed. :D
