Ware and Hatcher at the Taste of NFL

Dang, Hatcher makes Ware look normal sized!

WOW never realized the size difference btw the two.

Ware is 6'4" and Hatcher is 6'6"? Hatcher looks way bigger.

...trust official measurements.

If it is a 2" difference, then this has to be the longest two inches I have ever seen.

I've never understood how little love Hatcher gets here.
Iv always liked Hatcher. He's been getting better every year. I think he's gonna strive in the 4-3.

Hatcher is really, really good. I think he gets under-estimated here because he hasn't had a huge sack year.

He also disappointed for a number of years after flashing as a rookie and getting hyped as a sophomore by Jerry. From 2007-10 he was pretty invisible as a rotational guy before emerging in 2011 after he hit FA and got zero offers elsewhere.

I'm still of the opinion that if he has been playing well we should try and extend him in the middle of the season. I don't want to be left next offseason really reaching trying to fill a huge hole at DT when Ratliff is cut and Hatcher is fielding offers in FA. This hasn't been a good offseason for DL and Hatcher will be 32 years old before the start of the 2014 season and still doesn't have a Pro Bowl invite beside his name. He will probably choose for a bit of security given the unknowns and I wouldn't mind holding onto him for 3 more years on a small deal to be rotational depth. Maybe we can get him to ink 2 years, $6M?

If we don't right now we have Lissemore and Crawford for the 2014 season, a declining/injured/overpaid Rat (doesn't sound very appealing) and the potential inmate Josh Brent (who may never see another snap here even if he doesn't go to jail). This smells like the situation in 2011 where some might say we vastly overpaid Free and took Tyron Smith over the DPOTY in JJ Watt due to need. This is not how good teams are built. JJ needs to try and extend Hatcher if we can for a low-priced deal.
