I wonder how many have seen Ware play or are just going by his sack total. For someone playing on a defense with Von Miller....I thought his defense would be more impactful. But he's playing like he has in the last few years. There was a time when Ware just blew up on tape to you. Ware use to be a man among boys. But these last few years he's just sort of with the boys IMO.

But I would've loved to have Ware here. But the whole nagging injuries he's been suffering and not to mention he's probably one of the most gifted defensive players Maranelli has ever coached but he's also one of the few who didn't get better when Maranelli got ahold to him.

Okay, I'll play.

Is Ware of today as good as the Ware of 2008? 2009? 2012? Is Mincey not quite as good as the Ware of 2008? 2009? 2012? Is Mincey today almost as good as Ware of today or is Ware so far superior that trying to make a comparison is obscene?

Your turn.

Yes, it is obscene. The rest gave me a headache.

There is a reason why Ware got the contract he did from the Broncos and a reason why the Broncos hardly played Mincey, then let him loose to sign the paltry contract he did with us.

Okay, explain those reasons. You seem to be well-versed in the ways of player personnel management, cap analysis and risk management.

I have watched Ware play two or three times this year. He may be playing slightly better, but it is clear that he has lost a stop. Still a quality player though but not what it once was. No question about it.

Yep, I thought the same.

I'd still love to see Ware on the Cowboys but not at the obscene salary he's getting this year or what he had coming from the Cowboys for the '14 season.

Denver games are shown a lot here, so I have had an opportunity to watch Ware play. His bull rush is still strong, and while he remains fast, he is no longer double geared lightning quick. I don't see him as a guy who can take over a game anymore, but he's still a good player.

I wish we still had him, because he could help our defense. I do understand the business side of it though, and am fine with cutting ties with him, based on his high salary and health issues of the last few seasons.

Ware is dead to me. LOL.

The Broncos went on a spending spree to get Ward, Ware, and Talib. Now they have to pay WR Demariyus Thomas, TE Julius Thomas and LB Vonn Miller next year. Good luck trying to sign them all. I think they might not be able to sign LB Miller and TE Thomas.

I kind of like the attitude of the defense since he left. We got mean.

Yeah, there is that.

Also the defense has gotten far more disciplined... Not saying that was Ware-thing, but it has become much more disciplined from the last couple seasons to this one.

if ware was here, he'd be the de facto leader of the defense and possibly the entire team. that is a big problem for me.

I'm just glad we are having conversations/threads like this. It means we have prudent cap management happening.
