My first instinct says we should start thinking about locking up Miles, but is it too early?

Who else is a possibilty?

Sign Austin before he ends up top 5 in receiving yardage at the end of the season.

I think Austin's the no-brainer:

5 years, $45 million.

I just wonder where we can get it from?

That's too high a number after two games. But if Jones worked quickly he could probably get a 5 year 30 million deal.

Lets just hope that there is no cap next year. That way Miles will remain a restricted free agent for the next 2 years.

I'd like to see him breaking consistent double coverage before giving him #1 money. I don't think he's been exactly game planned for yet.

Miles no doubt but we must also take care of Sensabaugh. The guy was the difference in our defense be good to dominate.

I would offer Miles 5 years 25 million today.

Try and get off easy like we did with Jay Ratliff.

There is no way we could afford to keep Ratliff had we not got him signed.

Ratliff would get Demarcus Ware type money if he was a free agent.

Doesn't Austin go in as a Restricted FA again this offseason due to the change in rules going into the uncapped year?

After 250 yds against KC, you don't think that Atlanta planned for him.

First Austin, then Sensabaugh;
and as i understand it, if no labor agreement, marcus spears will be a restricted free agent if no labor deal signed by NFL>

Look at it this way, if you let spears go, then you have to go out and draft another top LDE.
We need our top draft picks yesterday being a OT and a young wr possibly.

With Austin if he keeps improving then you dont need to do that draft a young wr, but you still need possibly 2 young offensive linemen drafted.

columbo is 31 i think, leonard davis is 31 i think, flozell is 34, kosier is 30,
sure we have Holland in backup role along with you know who Proctor, but we all know proctor cant cut it, so you need 2 young studs on the offensive line.

Possibly need a top free safety drafted to to replace ken hamlin

AT outside linebacker, we have young ware, spencer, butler, and brandon williams with jason williams filling in for bobby carpenter next year

so we will need a young impact middle linebacker to replace brooking in a year or 2.

So thats a
OT
OG,
FS
MLB

that fills your top 4 draft picks

His 59 yard TD he was being single covered by safety.

If they did, they did a really crappy job of it.

Austin, Sensabaugh and Spears hopefully all get re-signed. Not sure what the market is for either of these guys. We're going to have to overpay for all three more than likely.

Hey Siavii is playing some good ball for us too.

My positions of need in this draft would be.

1. Safety

2. OT

3. NT/WR - Both would be a luxury pick for this team.

I also would have no problem if the Cowboys pulled the trigger on ILB Brandon Spikes.

I would take that. Especially Brandon Spikes.

That might not be a bad idea, but how much would you guarantee? I'm sure that's what the agent would be interested in.

Miles has to be first, but I would definitely sign Junior to a two or three year deal. I suspect he'd sign pretty cheaply for a few years of security after being out of the league for a while.

And while I wouldn't want to give Sensabaugh a mint, I don't think he'd check out mentally if he got his money like it seems Hamlin has. Mike Smith said he was one of the toughest guys he'd coached and you practically had to cut off a limb to keep him off the field.
