Ware gets zero respect

That award is a joke just every other one. Anyone who knows football knows Ware is the best defensive player in the league.

By the way, Ware doesn't get media mention for stuff like that because he doesn't shamelessly self promote.

Mathews as D player of the year? Excuse me....how many sacks did he have? let see how he plays without steroids (just haven't been caught yet).

Being the QB of Dallas means you get criticized, fairly or not.

Ask just about any QB that has played in Dallas.
 
I actually think they're fair predictions, when you consider that Ware didn't win it when he nearly broke the NFL sack record. The guy would have to put up 30 sacks and 5 interceptions just to get onto Top Plays on Monday morning. I'd never bet on him getting DPOY.
 
For the next 2 days. I don't think Ware cares. He wants a superbowl.
 
Three of them have us making the playoffs and one of them the Super Bowl so the predictions aren't that bad imo. Who knows what will happen? Lets take this one game at a time and take care of business tomorrow night!

The 1992 Cowboys didn't get much respect either. Number 1 ranked defense that year with zero, count em, zero Pro Bowlers on that side of the ball. And that was before all this fan voting BS came into play.

Oh, and Charles Haley was in his prime back then.

Ironically I think this is the only way Ware gets DPOY is if the Cowboy defense as a whole is ranked in the top 5-10 in total defense. If you look at the recipients of the award the last 10-15 years that player's team usually has a top 10 defense. He gets overshadowed(I know that sounds ridiculous) because of how the defense performs. I do think this could be the best defense that Ware will ever play with or at least potentally.

I agree with that. The defense is known for major 4th quarter collapses and letting receivers run free. Ware's individual accomplishments get overshadowed as a result.

Based on the style of play in preseason, even though it is supposedly "vanilla", the defense looked much more aggressive. I know preseason doesn't mean much, but the fact that this team wasn't giving up chunks of yards and opposing teams were having to work for their points is a positive sign.

This defense seems legit to me, and I think Ware will get some respect this year as the team around him plays better.
 
kind of like the NBA gives Marcus Camby the DPOY award when the Knicks have one of the worst defenses in the league.......yet when the Spurs were owning opposing teams offenses, neither Bowen or Duncan could even sniff the award.......

those awards are simply a popularity contest like the Pro Bowl.
 
Ware is not a publicity hound and is reserved.

People here are ready to anoint lee as leader, future coach, totally disrespecting a PROVEN leader and prime athlete such as ware.:mad:
 
Ware named I think 6 best player in NFL for the year on NFLN, which is supposed to be voted by his peers. That actually means something.

This right here is what the Giants haven't had to do in 3 of the last 4 games we've played against them and you can include that playoff game in 07(Toomer's TD and the Jacques Reeves toast convention at the end of the 1st half). Think of how many TD's they scored and how easy they scored them and some off of broken plays. Our defense didn't make them work at all in those 3 wins. The longer a team has to work done the field to get a TD the greater chance a mistake occurs. That's what has to happen to get this defense to an elite level.
