Ware gets zero respect

Or the team would have to actually have some success

Strahan, Reed, Taylor and White didn't need their teams to make the playoffs to get DPOY love in their day.

They did need their teams to be ranked top 5 top 10 in defense.

Reed won the award Baltimore's defense ranked 6th.
Taylor won the award Miami's defense ranked 5th.

Strahan was the exception because of setting the sack record.

As for Reggie, man that was almost 30 years ago. Not saying White didn't deserve but the award has taken on a little more meaning since then.

Two of those guys set sack records. Taylor was remarkably dominant, causing 11 turnovers and getting 13.5 sacks. Reed? 12 turnovers.

Ware certainly was awesome in 2008 - he lost out to a guy with 4 fewer sacks but two more turnovers on a far better team. It was close and that usually goes to the guy on the better team
