Ware & Hatcher

This isn't about how they play this year. It is about expecting a drop off in 2015 and beyond. You want to cut bait a year early rather than a year late

I agree. Dallas talked with Ware about a pay cut and Ware did not want to do that, I understand Ware view I also understood Dallas situation, do you continue to pay big money and take the risk with a player who is getting up in age and dealing with injury problems? Both sides did what was in their best interest, Dallas will continue to build defense and in the meantime we have gone from one of the oldest team 4 years ago to the 2nd youngest team this year

Like he has in the last couple, Ware has disappeared as the season has gone on...2 sacks in the last 6 games. I wish I could specifically remember all the people who said he was going to go out and get 16-20 sacks.

Hatch never even bothered to show up in Washington lol

Risen Star.

Anyway Ware did exactly what I said and thought he would do. Fade as the season went along.

It would be nice to look back at the threads about what a mistake is was to let Ware go.

Many people in here did predict correctly that he would fade. It was the right move to let him go for us. Who knows if it was for him.

Wow suddenly after that guy mentioned it, it would be kinda sad if we won it without ware. I bought a car and a turtle yesterday and I had to wait a long time and my gf cried as I explained wares story to her then she googled him shirtless :\

Here's a couple for you full of Ware love. Well not full but some. You'll notice one particular poster with unconditional love for what Ware was doing.

Ware would've been tripled team here. He wouldn't be having the year he's having in Denver. Would the rest of our linemen be stepping up with him occupied? Who knows. We're doing better without him than we did with him so it's all good. I wish him well but not against us.

And this was the true test. Ware has had a tendancy to get nicked up or wear down as the season has gone on in the last couple of years. This year seems to be no different.

Ware is in the playoffs, not sure that team will win a Super Bowl. Hatcher wanted a payday wasn't getting it from us

Hatcher has his $$$$$, and will be sitting on the couch.....along with the rest of the NFC East teams.....
I am glad for Ware to have a legit shot in the playoffs.

This. I'm not sure how much he is getting paid in Denver but I would guess that he has not earned it if it is top-five DE/LB $$$.

I'm happy he is doing okay in Denver but I seriously doubt he has made an impact on their defense.

Y'all can say what you want, Ware was a huge reason this team had no identity. Disappeared when needed most, no vocal leadership, no mental toughness. Great guy, played hard, liked him off the field, and I still miss his edge rush. But I don't miss the 2-3 offsides per game, I don't miss the identity we had with him as our defensive leader....

Hatcher was a contract year player. That's it....

What are you saying? Which one should we have kept?

Ware, obviously.

Ware is playing well because he is used sparingly and at OLB. He never transitioned well to DE at Dallas.

Good for him.

For the 1000th time....it was bigger than money in my opinion. We needed to move on from their "leadership" style....and/or lockeroom influence. Cannot have 53 "yes mam" and "no sir" types. #27 and #88.....their passion needed to be unleashed. That #27 will hit you...and hit you....and hit you again. He is always in the middle of a scrum. And I LOVE that he tried to take that ball he intercepted back to the house. You think #59 would feel comfortable stepping into a leadership role with #94 around? You think #32 would have felt comfortable throwing his helmet at the bench as the Cowboys were on the verge of giving up a lead...which we did OFTEN with #94 around. #55 lays the wood. These guys have inspired this team with their level of physicality and edgy behaviour. And that has been missing for FAR TOO LONG!

This is the truth about past leadership here, any display of emotion was looked down on by the leadership we had; at the same time these same leaders were either unwilling, or incapable of stoking the fire of this team at crucial moments. Preferring to lead by example, problem was that example was giving up late leads and letting other teams punch them in the gut without a response. The young guys took a cue from that and it's hard to step up with a guy like 94 letting Lee get blindsided and no one gets payback. You don't have to hurt anyone but youu can go out and get in someone's face and start laying the wood out there as opposed to walking away with the other team woofing at you.
