Ware & Hatcher

This is the truth about past leadership here, any display of emotion was looked down on by the leadership we had; at the same time these same leaders were either unwilling, or incapable of stoking the fire of this team at crucial moments. Preferring to lead by example, problem was that example was giving up late leads and letting other teams punch them in the gut without a response. The young guys took a cue from that and it's hard to step up with a guy like 94 letting Lee get blindsided and no one gets payback. You don't have to hurt anyone but youu can go out and get in someone's face and start laying the wood out there as opposed to walking away with the other team woofing at you.
I was livid when I saw how this team responded to Golden Tate knocking Sean Lee senseless. And Golden Tate was still talking about giving someone the "sean lee treatment" years later. Well we took a NEW brand of football up to Seattle this year...and luckily there were guys on this team that remembered how Seattle bullied us the last time we were up there...and our approach was far different this year. Fire was coming out of Dez nostrils after the Thanksgiving game...when he felt the Eagle defenders were playing dirty on Thanksgiving. And clearly...clearly...he did not forget. This is not choir rehersal folks.....this is blood sport..and if you want to shake hands and kiss babies...you need to be moved to the practice squad. When you step between the lines....it is on!

Haven't seen an udpate since then, but here you go.

Cowboys sue player for ‘exaggerating injury’
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Dallas Cowboys have filed a complaint against Jay Ratliff and are seeking compensation from the defensive lineman.

Ratliff was sidelined last season while recovering from a sports hernia that required surgery. He was placed on the physically unable to perform list, but when he told the Cowboys he was not physically able to play, they released him in October.

A week later, Ratliff’s surgeon medically cleared him to play and he signed with the Bears, playing five games for them.

The collective bargaining agreement does not cover such disputes, so the Cowboys have brought their complaint to the NFL’s management council and the players’ union.

It seems like it would be in the NFL's best interest to be supportive of the Cowboys on this one. It is a bad precedent.

Loved Ware, but I saw him sulking on the sideline a few times last year and it made me think it was time to move on. Some of this sulking seemed to be even when we were winning the game. Moving on from Ware was good for both the team and Ware.
Hatcher I wanted resigned, but not at his asking price.

I really want to see Detroit in the playoffs. Not only for the last two times we've played them but for Tate as well. That dude has it coming to him in the worst way. That guy has always gotten on my nerves.

I agree with New England pick. I don't think Seattle offense has enough punch to get there.

Despite the fact that they rolled up nearly 600 yards of offense on the Arizona defense? Including 330+ passing from Wilson?

One of three teams is going to win the Super Bowl this year, the Patriots, Seahawks or Cowboys. Because Green Bay is not going into Seattle and winning an NFC championship, I'm telling you right now. If we get past the divisional round and go into Seattle, we have a chance because of our style of offense. But Seattle's defense would destroy the Green Bay passing game, it's what they're built for.

I think Ware is Making $13 million this year on a three year $30 million contract with $20 million guaranteed.

DeMarcus Ware has signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Denver Broncos that includes $20 million in guaranteed money, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Broncos announced the signing Wednesday, but they did not confirm the financial terms.

The deal, according to the source, will pay Ware $13 million in 2014 -- $250,000 more than the Pro Bowl pass-rusher was scheduled to make from the Dallas Cowboys, who released him Tuesday. His $7 million salary in 2015 also will be guaranteed, according to the source.

He hasn't played well the last 9 games... 8 sacks in the first 6 games and only 3 since then. Pretty much the same pattern as in Dallas. PFF has him ranked as the 19th best 4-3 DE in football.

Certainly not worth $10 mil for the season.

I couldn't agree more. When I watched him last night he looked like the same player I remember disappearing in big games in recent years. I'm super glad we made the right business decision with Ware and Hatcher. Moves like that actually help improve your team. We have hungry motivated players right now.

The arizona offense was pretty inept against seattle. My oppinion was that the arizona defense wore out with the offense doing so little and then after seattle softend them up with the run the pass opened up as well.

But for the most part i think the seattle passing offense has struggled the past month. I like our chances against them.

Ware's season so far:

725 snaps 11 sacks 12 QB hits 28 pressures 4 penalties 18 tackles 4 assists

Mincey's season so far:

688 snaps 5 sacks 7 QB hits 36 pressures 1 penalty 17 tackles 3 assists

Then consider what their salaries are:

Ware $9.666 mil

Mincey $1.250 mil

Come to your own conclusion.

And two of Mincey's sacks came in December to help us beat the Eagles.

To say nothing of the leadership intangible Mincey brought with him.

Another move the Cowboys deserve a lot of credit for. I've been very impressed, and he seems to be getting better as the season goes along.

You bring up a valid point about the leadership aspect. Mincey's level of leadership has surprised me. I didn't expect that.

Agreed. Seattle has been playing some pretty anemic offenses/QBs the past couple of months. Granted they shut down the Eagles but the Seahawks offense is always going to allow other teams to stay in games unless they get a some turnovers returned for TDs or special teams TDs. I feel like their defense is no doubt very good but against a very good offense like ours they won't be able to hold us down long enough without them putting up points as well. This is what happened in the first game. They didn't really do much on offense against us and eventually our offense broke through on them. I feel if we are in a similar situation against them we would beat them again.

I forgot he was with Detroit. Makes me want to play them now. #27 and #42 will lay the wood! And Sterling Moore is physical as well. Plus #55 patroling the middle....it would be lovely to get our hands on Golden Tate again!
