Demorrio Williams
Julian Peterson
Demarcus Ware

charlieheel said:Don't hold your breath. As of right now, there is no comparison between Ware and Merriman. Merriman is making plays all over the field and Ware looks like the next Pittman, Ek, and Carver rolled into one. Fast of the edge then gets pushed out too easy.
We drafted this guy to get the QB on the ground, not to defend tight ends downfield. And don't give me those hurried numbers or pressured numbers. Give me sacks numbers. Let's face it he has been dissapointing since the first half of the season.
StanleySpadowski said:What would you rather have, a player with 5 sacks and 30 pressures or 10 sacks and 10 pressures?
I'd take the 5/30 guy. Sacks are overrated as a statistic. Give me a team that puts constant pressure on a QB, forcing him to hurry his decisions and I'll show you a quality defense. At least two of Ware's pressures lead directly to INTs. That doesn't show up on his stat line, but people who understand football understand that what really matters.
And claiming that Ware wasn't drafted to cover TEs but to register sacks is simplistic. If he didn't have some coverage responsibilities, he's be a DE instead of a LB.
