Please move on from Demaecus Where...

*This* the the kind of junk I hate most about watching a HoF player of the caliber of Demarcus Ware near the end of his career. There's no place for that sort of derision in a fanbase, in my book. Just respect what the guy did, and understand that there's going to come a point where he cannot do it anymore.

Just release him already...don't feel sorry for HOF players who have made plenty of money. He was a great player during his tenure but his salary no longer comes CLOSE to his production. What has Dallas won during his career? The fans don't owe him anything; he surely could give two flips about us. He also doesn't want to take a paycut? Why are we held to higher standards?

Respect is good, but the name of the team is Dallas Cowboys, not Ware's Cowboys.

If Indy can cut Manning....Dallas can cut Ware. Great player, but injuries have caught up to him, and we need cap room to get better as a "team".

No elbow surgery scheduled for DeMarcus Ware

When the 2013 season came to an end for the Cowboys, defensive end DeMarcus Ware said that he would likely have arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow in hopes of avoiding the bothersome pain caused by bone fragments over the last two seasons.

Ware put off surgery last offseason as he chose to get his shoulder repaired surgically instead and chose to rest the elbow. While that didn’t take care of the issue once and for all, David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports that no surgery has been scheduled at this point either. Ware’s expected to have the elbow examined later this month and a decision will be made on how to proceed at that point.

The elbow injury is one of several aches and pains that have nagged Ware over the last couple of years, including a quad injury that forced him to miss games for the first time in his career last season. All of those injuries have limited Ware’s practice time, something coach Jason Garrett wants to see change in 2014 whether or not Ware winds up having an operation on his elbow.

Another change could be coming to Ware’s contract. He’s due to make $26 million over the next two years and the combination of Ware’s diminished production in 2013 and the team’s overall cap condition make it something that may be revisited this offseason. Ware’s not thought to be open to a pay cut, though, which would mean pushing more money into either 2015 or future seasons if the two sides agreed on an extension.

It's probably just a scope if he does have it. The kind of thing that's completely healed in a month or so. It probably doesn't matter when he does it, as long as it's before camp. Maybe he just doesn't want to have another surgery on his list when he goes into the early renegotiating talks with the Cowboys this offseason. :)

That's ridiculous. He needs to get it done asap so we can find out if the thing is actually fixed before training camp. Let's not wait till football activities to start to have the surgery. He needs to do what he has to do now. Ware has very little leeway with me anymore.

you are no fan of the Cowboys if you root for 1 player that does nothing but take up way to much cap. Should we sign street bums to surround his heyness so he can finish his career here ?

Yep you're right. Give him his money. Let him keep every bit of it. Screw the cap and screw the team. Ware has earned it.

You're right, StarBoyz is overstating reality. But it is difficult but easy choice to make with Ware. He's declined for two years in a row and has been beset with nagging injuries. And he's due a ton of money. He very well might turn in a string of good seasons for a while yet, it's still not worth the risk. It was a decent bet when the contract was signed that we'd have until 2015 to make the tough call, but his play fell off a cliff out of nowhere. He's not worth what we've committed to next year, and he needs to convert some of his guaranteed money into a performance bonus for this year and next, or we need to let him go, wish him the best, and look for another huge-impact DL that we don't currently have anyplace on this roster.

Good post Idgit, I agree.

Its time to cut the dead weight around here, we got too many guys just collecting checks at this point. $25 million over the next two years is laughable for Demarcus Where?

Come on, you know the routine. All is well. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Wait, it's summertime. Ware needs surgery will miss preseason and games 1-?

No, still in pain for first game and goes on PUP, then IR, no salary cut here!

doubt it. Next yr with a restructure this yr his cap will be 20mil. He wont be a Cowboy in 2015 unless he gets 20 sacks

And that would be accomplished with an extension, spreading money out over the future.
