Ware on the last couple 'Skins drives

Something really jumped out at me on the last few 'Skins drives...the lack of Ware to even ATTEMPT to rush the passer.

This was easily the most frustrating aspect of the 4th quarter for me. He would literally stand up at the snap, just kind of waltz into Samuels, engage, and hardly attempt to even fight him off. It was completely different than his explosions off the line we were seeing earlier. This was most evident to me on the 'Skins last TD drive.

I think this could be one of two things, a) Ware was exhausted, or b) the coaches wanted him to focus on contain. Either way, it was complete crap. If a) was the case, get Ware off the field and let him take a breather for chrissakes. If b), the coaches need to get their heads out of their rears. Allowing Campbell to sit back and take his choice of receiver without any semblance of a passrush is completely moronic.

Yes, we won, and that is really all that matters. We have a stranglehold on the division. But this really pissed me off.

I think he was playing contain.

And he was a monster today BTW.

I think they wanted Ware to defend against any passes in the flat to the RB.

He was exhausted the No-Huddle will wear you out he was the only one doing anything on defense today besides T-NEW... hell T.O. had a better defensive day then most of the guys on defense:laugh2:

I saw the same thing. He would make an attempt every once in a while, but he was going through the motions most of those plays.

I'm going with the exhausted theory. He just looked like he was about half speed starting midway through the 3rd quarter.

I agree that he was a monster. That is why this was even more frustrating to me.

If indeed the coaching staff decided to go contain (which I agree is the most likely scenario), then the decision to go to a prevent defense against a team still having all 3 timeouts with over half of the 4th quarter left was absolutely terrible. Force JC to make a play. Don't simply hand 8-12 yard gains to him on a silver freakin' platter.

He was worn out. They threw the ball 55 times and went no huddle for much of the 4th quarter. That will wear down a DE quickly.

he was tired, as someone said earlier the no huddle wears your defense out it is used to not let substitutions get in the game. We should have just used a Timeout to either give them a rest and make substitutions

We have enough d-line depth that this should absolutely not matter. Ware is our best defensive player and one of the best in the league, but if he is playing at what seemed about 30%, he isn't better than any other edge rusher on an NFL roster. Get him out of the game so he can come back and wreak havoc.

On a somewhat related note: I thought that Ware was credited a sack for the intentional grounding call on Campbell which would of gave him 2 on the day. However I go to NFL.com and it only gave him 1. Whats the deal with that. FOX even had him down with 2 Sacks.

There were several plays where he wasn't even on the field. I think he was exhausted.

Fox was wrong. Same thing happened against Minnesota, too.
