It seemed like Ware and Newman were the only ones doing anything on defense.

On a somewhat related note: I thought that Ware was credited a sack for the intentional grounding call on Campbell which would of gave him 2 on the day. However I go to NFL.com and it only gave him 1. Whats the deal with that. FOX even had him down with 2 Sacks.

They don't count them. You have to keep track of them yourself or redefine a sack.

Sack: Plays where the offense loses a down and the yardage of where the QB was located. Ware has 11 of those kind of sacks .

I would be tired too if I was the only one getting decent pressure. The one time I keyed in on Spencer he got destroyed by Samuels.

Fox was wrong. Same thing happened against Minnesota, too.

That is Bull...I hate that...D. Ware should have at least 11 Sacks on the season.

He was the only guy from the front line who came and played, and had pressure on Campbell. That is one of the reasons Campbell was so successful, besides the really soft zone.

That's why I can't get upset if we keep drafting pass rushers.

:hammer:

You can never have enough pass rushers, or quality db's for that matter.

I agree that he was a monster. That is why this was even more frustrating to me.

If indeed the coaching staff decided to go contain (which I agree is the most likely scenario), then the decision to go to a prevent defense against a team still having all 3 timeouts with over half of the 4th quarter left was absolutely terrible. Force JC to make a play. Don't simply hand 8-12 yard gains to him on a silver freakin' platter.

Campbell rushed for a bunch of yards when Ware gave up contain.

I think he was playing contain.

And he was a monster today BTW.

He had to contain, nobody on the line could penetrate, and no DB could cover. The guy is a monster, but he has no help.

Is anyone on this roster capable of spelling him?

Something really jumped out at me on the last few 'Skins drives...the lack of Ware to even ATTEMPT to rush the passer.

This was easily the most frustrating aspect of the 4th quarter for me. He would literally stand up at the snap, just kind of waltz into Samuels, engage, and hardly attempt to even fight him off. It was completely different than his explosions off the line we were seeing earlier. This was most evident to me on the 'Skins last TD drive.

I think this could be one of two things, a) Ware was exhausted, or b) the coaches wanted him to focus on contain. Either way, it was complete crap. If a) was the case, get Ware off the field and let him take a breather for chrissakes. If b), the coaches need to get their heads out of their rears. Allowing Campbell to sit back and take his choice of receiver without any semblance of a passrush is completely moronic.

Yes, we won, and that is really all that matters. We have a stranglehold on the division. But this really pissed me off.
I was so upset about this I could spit nails. He was EXHAUSTED!!!!!! Why did we draft Spencer if we were going to play DeMArcus until he puked? That is bad awarness on the coaching staff's part!

First of all i have to say, its shamefull to even think about putting down D-ware, He made some big plays, and if he was tired, or put into coverage, so be it. He ripped the ball out of campbells hand has his few sacks.

to complain about Ware is just assinine...him and Newman were basically the only guys that showed up on defense today...the guy couldnt be blocked the entire game, the problem is nobody else did jack

the last couple of series he was clearly gassed...I think he may have even came out at the end for a snap or two...other than that, he was out there every play...and they had 50+ drop backs

I just don't know how you can complain about anything DWare did today or all year. The man is all over the field, he plays his arse off..

I dont either...the guy is one of the 3 or 4 best defensive players in the league...I'd hate to imagine our defense with out him

Give me a break. I know that Ware is awesome. Clearly he had a helluva game.

However, he was a completely different player on the last couple of drives. Whatever the reason (being exhausted so that he should clearly be given a breather, or the coaches changing the scheme), I was not putting it on him, but the coaches. Never was I complaining about Ware.

The fact that you were too dense to pick up on this really doesn't surprise me.

You've got a pic of Ware in your sig with a line that says 'Eli just sharted.' I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

To add to the chorus, I think it was in Mick's notes that I read that Ware had to have two full IVs after the game. That gives a pretty good idea of how exhausted he was. We weren't substituting and they were running no huddle at that point, though, and we obviously weren't going to give them the TO.

I also read the same thing -- that Ware was so exhausted that they Cowboys had to give him 2 IVs after the game. It's was their no huddle offense that so tired out our defense and fortunately the Skins still couldn't win. Cowboys need to run their own version of the no huddle offense. Against Minny, we held the ball for 9 mins and went the whole length of the field before scoring. That would be one way to slow down the Packers defense.
