i noticed teams are running right at ware now. why? because im starting to think the guy is sack first mentality.

prime example was that long jackson td run. ware left a gaping lane open for jackson and the rams exposed it by running right to it. its like they knew what ware was gonna do. ware left zach totally exposed on that play.

sacks are good but at what point do u start to think is this guy wanting the individual stats now? thats why i was never concerned with passed cowboy teams without the big sack numbers. because u knew hey had designed to be that way. stop the run first. dallas is gona start playing teams who focus on the run. and if they(ware) start worrying about how mny sacks they have this team is gonna be ran over every game.

the secondary was decent today, but the run defence was the worst i seen in a few yrs. the rams OL looked lik all-universe. and they're horrible.

dallas is getting beat in the trenches and that needs to stop right ***'n now. or this team is gonna lose double digit games this yr. u can bet on that.

The entire team has tackling issues. Ware can't do it all by himself.

Do you guys know that Ware over the past 3 seasons leads the league in "stuffs." That's any stops for no gain, loses and sacks. Pretty good if you can ask me. Now if our ILB's Toughened up, filled their assignments and kicked our corners into gear so we didn't have to spread zones we'll be in prime shape.

This is what I HATE about losses-everyone, including myself, will come up with all kinds of BS theories over why even our BEST players are vastly overrated, weak, etc, etc.

To me it looked like they let Ware get through, so they could make the play.

I agree. I think it was planned by the Rams.

I don't know much, but if Ware was told on the play to blitz, and he does, that shouldn't be his fault?

Good point Forrest Gump......I am not a smart man :laugh2:

The D that is called is not Ware's decision. Frankly he is all over the run as well so I don't see the point being valid but say it is......Ware is not deciding to blitz

Ware is the only player on defense that actually gives a $%^&!!!

He plays balls to the wall every freaking play while the rest of the defense just stands there and sucks.

Nobody on defense has any room to say $%^& to Ware.

I think your opinion that his pass rush opens huge running lanes is spot on, but your assumption that he cares more about stats that anything else is probably totally off base. I have no doubt that Ware is a team first guy, although I thought his celebration of that tackle on Bulger for a 1 yard loss on a broken play was the epitomy of the modern baller when his team is getting embarrassed early.

Still, the reason teams can count on a gaping running lane in pass situations is because Ware still has no inside pass rush moves...he still relies on speed and relentlessness to either beat a tackle or get a coverage sack. That speed move always takes him out of the off-tackle run...if he used some inside moves, teams wouldn't automatically know where he'll be on 3rd down.

It's still more a coaching thing though...he's the best defender we have, so I think there's much more blame to put on the other 3 sad LBs and front 3.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Demarcus Ware. He's arguably the best defensive player in the league and doesnt have a flaw in his game. On top of that he's one of very players on this team that never quits and busts his tail every play.

He's having a great yr in spite of nobody else really helping him out, and pathetic coaching by the staff.

Don't be ridiculous.

On that play Ware was onviously called to go inside. It was the playcall, not Ware's preference. He's one of the best run defending LBs in the NFL.

Wow, this thread is The Ranch worthy. Ware is probably the best run defender we have. I didn't see Jackson bust his long runs to his side of the defense. He went to Greg Ellis' territory....

Ding, Ding, Ding! Ware pulled inside on what looked like a stunt, but the blockers pulled to the vacated side and the lane was open. As Moose stated on the telecast, good call by the Rams and great execution by the Rams. Ware was not the reason for that plays success.

You are right, the run defense sucked but to me the pass defense was also terrible. I think Ware was the only player on that defense who made an effort at all so calling him selfish is off base. When he doesn't get sacks, people call him out. When he gets 3 sacks in a game, again it's Ware not doing the job. The rest of the defense needs to step up and grow some heart. They are getting free money right now and if I were coach or owner, some heads would be rolling.

I think one of the 2ndary's worst plays was one that didn't actually hurt the Cowboys but showed their inexperience and seemingly lack of how to run the defense: Mike Jenkins, pulling off his receiver, leaving him WIDE OPEN. I'd love to know what Jenkins was thinking on that play

As for Ware, I don't think he's a sack-first guy as much as just overly aggressive in trying to get to the backfield that it gets to be easy to let him overrun a play and take himself out of it. If you know a guys' gonna come aggressive like that, it makes some types of plays a lot easier. But I don't think it's b/c he's being selfish and wants sacks. I just think he feels if he's back there quick he can disrupt the offense...teams have just figured it out and are adjusting
