MOCK DRAFT: ROUND 1
PICK TEAM PLAYER POS SCHOOL
1 (1) Rams Sam Bradford* QB Oklahoma
More and more personnel men tell us that Bradford's shoulder will check out just fine. If so, there is no good reason to pass on the only franchise QB in the '10 draft.
2 (2) Lions Russell Okung T Oklahoma St.
Passing on Ndamukong Suh would be tough, but the defensive line is solid after trading for DT Corey Williams and signing DE Kyle Vanden Bosch. The better move would be to grab QB Matthew Stafford's blindside protector.
3 (3) Buccaneers Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska
Bucs officials will consider trading up to secure Suh, but if Bradford's shoulder is OK it wouldn't be a shocker to see Suh drop to them at No. 3.
4 (4) Commanders Trent Williams T Oklahoma
New coach Mike Shanahan would prefer a QB here, but Bradford is the only QB worthy of a high pick. Instead, Washington should grab Williams to replace retired LT Chris Samuels.
5 (5) Chiefs Eric Berry* S Tennessee
The Chiefs' defense needs a ton of help, and DT Gerald McCoy would be tempting here but he doesn't really fit their scheme. G.M. Scott Pioli instead should nab the athletic and versatile Berry to upgrade the secondary.
6 (6) Seahawks Gerald McCoy* DT Oklahoma
Offensive tackle is a more pressing need, but the team should get a quality guy at No. 14. McCoy is an elite talent, and Seattle needs a playmaker for the defense to improve in '10.
7 (7) Browns Joe Haden* CB Florida
The Browns need a top-level cornerback, and Haden's poor 40-yard dash at the Combine was a result of poor technique, not poor speed.
8 (8) Raiders Bruce Campbell* T Maryland
The Raiders are desperate for a left tackle, and Al Davis does love to draft workout warriors. The late-rising Campbell was a superstar at the Combine, so this makes way too much sense.
9 (9) Bills Sergio Kindle OLB Texas
Switching to a 3-4 scheme means the Bills must find edge pass rushers, and Kindle would be a perfect fit. After his strong Combine workout, nobody doubts his ability to be productive as a rush linebacker in a 3-4.
10 (10) Jaguars Dez Bryant* WR Oklahoma St.
The Jags must improve the weapons for QB David Garrard, and the signing of DE Aaron Kampman should allow them to bolster the offense in the first round.
11 (11) Broncos Corey Wootton DE N'western
(From Chicago) The Broncos need powerful defensive ends for their 3-4 scheme, and Wootton would be ideal because of his great height, long arms and athleticism.
12 (12) Dolphins Demaryius Thomas* WR Georgia Tech
The Dolphins need a big-play weapon, and Thomas has the talent to be an elite NFL receiver along the lines of the Lions' Calvin Johnson. Thomas' foot, however, must check out to be drafted this high.
13 (13) 49ers Anthony Davis* T Rutgers
Niners coaches love LT Joe Staley and could solidify the line for the long term by grabbing the young, athletic and strong Davis to play right tackle.
14 (14) Seahawks Bryan Bulaga* T Iowa
(from Denver) With LT Walter Jones likely retiring, the Seahawks need somebody to protect QB Matt Hasselbeck now and whatever QB they draft for the future. Bulaga is not an elite athlete but reminds us a lot of Dolphins LT Jake Long.
15 (15) Giants Brandon Spikes ILB Florida
The team cut veteran MLB Antonio Pierce, who is 31 and has neck problems. Spikes shows the instincts, toughness and athleticism necessary to fill Pierce's shoes.
16 (16) Titans Derrick Morgan* DE Georgia Tech
The Titans lost DE Kyle Vanden Bosch in free agency, and DE Jevon Kearse isn't expected back, either. Morgan's stock has fallen a bit, but he would be a perfect fit in Tennessee.
17 (17) 49ers C.J. Spiller RB Clemson
(from Carolina) RB Frank Gore remains a star, but coach Mike Singletary wants an elite return man and needs a big-play weapon on offense. Spiller is a sparkplug and would be an ideal complement to Gore.
18 (18) Steelers Rolando McClain* ILB Alabama
The Steelers must inject youth in the front seven, and team officials will debate between the bigger and stronger McClain and the more athletic and competitive Sean Weatherspoon of Missouri.
19 (19) Falcons Jason Pierre-Paul* DE South Fla.
The Falcons should take the best-available offensive or defensive lineman. Paul-Pierre has the rare physical tools to become an elite NFL pass rusher, but it might take a while for him to develop because of his lack of experience.
20 (20) Texans Brian Price* DT UCLA
The Texans will consider a running back here, but the chance to get another quick and explosive defensive tackle would be hard to pass up.
21 (21) Bengals Brandon Graham DE Michigan
DE Antwan Odom is coming off a torn Achilles, and Graham has the size, strength, athleticism and pass-rush skills to make an instant impact.
22 (22) Patriots Thaddeus Gibson* OLB Ohio St.
Gibson performed well at the Combine, proving he has the athleticism to become an elite pass rusher.
23 (23) Packers Jonathan Dwyer* RB Georgia Tech
Packers coaches like RB Ryan Grant, but he is not a big-play back and backup Brandon Jackson has not developed. Dwyer is an explosive back with the size to break tackles and the speed to score on long runs.
24 (24) Eagles Ricky Sapp OLB Clemson
The Eagles desperately need a pass rusher opposite DE Trent Cole, and Sapp has the quickness, explosiveness and pass-rush skills to fit their scheme well.
25 (25) Ravens Rob Gronkowski* TE Arizona
G.M. Ozzie Newsome is willing to gamble on players coming off injuries, and QB Joe Flacco needs a weapon to complement new No. 1 WR Anquan Bolden.
26 (26) Cardinals Carlos Dunlap* DE Florida
The Cardinals need pass-rush help, and Dunlap has the size and athleticism to fit perfectly in the type of role Chike Okeafor held the past few seasons.
27 (27) Cowboys Earl Thomas* S Texas
The Cowboys need a young and athletic safety to bolster the pass coverage, and Thomas shows the skills to handle slot receivers man-to-man.
28 (28) Chargers Jared Odrick DT Penn State
Odrick played defensive tackle in college, but he fits perfectly as an end in San Diego's 3-4 scheme and would be ideal opposite Luis Castillo.
29 (29) Jets Dan Williams DT Tennessee
The Jets had to work hard to overcome the loss of NT Kris Jenkins last season, and drafting Williams would give them a strong backup for '10 and a long-term solution for when Jenkins retires.
30 (30) Vikings Mike Iupati G Idaho
G.M. Rick Spielman would consider Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen here, but Iupati is by far the best interior lineman in the draft and would have an instant impact for this Super Bowl contender.
31 (31) Colts Jeff Owens DT Georgia
The Colts are shifting toward bigger defensive tackles, and Owens has the size, strength and athleticism to be a force at the point of attack as a rookie.
32 (32) Saints Sean Weatherspoon ILB Missouri
After losing OLB Scott Fujita in free agency, Saints officials would be happy to have Weatherspoon fall to them at the end of the first round. He's the athletic, strong and competitive linebacker they need to upgrade the unit.

MOCK DRAFT: ROUND 2
PICK TEAM PLAYER POS SCHOOL
1 (33) Rams Golden Tate* WR Notre Dame
If the Rams grab Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford in the first round, the overhaul of the offense can continue with Tate. He has the ability to make big plays running after the catch.
2 (34) Lions Ryan Mathews* RB Fresno St.
After Kevin Smith injured his knee last season, the rushing attack struggled mightily. There is no guarantee Smith will be 100 percent this season, so the Lions should grab this physical inside runner.
3 (35) Buccaneers Taylor Mays S USC
Sabby Piscitelli proved in '09 that he is not starting-caliber safety, and Mays has the talent to be an impact run defender and good coverage safety. Mays is the sort of safety who makes everybody around him better.
4 (36) Chiefs Rodger Saffold T Indiana
LT Branden Albert is better suited to play guard in the NFL, and Saffold has the athleticism to be the long-term solution protecting QB Matt Cassel's blind side.
5 (37) Commanders Brandon Lang OLB Troy
The Commanders are switching to a 3-4 scheme, and Lang has the size, athleticism, long arms and pass-rush skills to play outside linebacker.
6 (38) Browns Jimmy Clausen* QB Notre Dame
It appears as if new Browns president Mike Holmgren do not believe in Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn and is looking hard at Clausen, the QB who replaced Quinn at Notre Dame.
7 (39) Raiders George Selvie DE South Fla.
The Raiders must bolster the pass rush and should take a shot on Selvie, who flashed top-not skills but has been inconsistent since his breakout sophomore season.
8 (40) Seahawks Toby Gerhart RB Stanford
The Seahawks do not have a big, strong back to carry the offense, and new coach Pete Carroll got a firsthand look at Gerhart when he ran for 178 yards and three touchdowns vs. USC last season.
9 (41) Bills Charles Brown T USC
After trading LT Jason Peters to Philadelphia last spring, the Bills struggled mightily to protect the QB. New G.M. Buddy Nix would be wise to pick the underrated Brown, who has the smooth athleticism to be a solid NFL left tackle.
10 (42) Buccaneers Greg Hardy DE Ole Miss
(from Chicago) Hardy is an athletic end with natural pass-rush skills, and the Bucs are desperate enough to gamble that Hardy's injury troubles are behind him.
11 (43) Dolphins Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma
For QB Chad Henne to continue to develop, the Dolphins must improve his weapons. If Gresham's knee holds up, he has the talent to be a good NFL receiving threat.
12 (44) Patriots Mardy Gilyard WR Cin.
(from Jacksonville) The Patriots need playmakers with WR Randy Moss turning 33 and WR Wes Welker coming off a severe knee injury. Gilyard's big-play explosiveness, speed and open-field running skills could add a dimension to the offense.
13 (45) Broncos Arrelious Benn* WR Illinois
With WR Brandon Marshall not expected back, the Broncos will need to replace him. Benn has the thick build, strength, athleticism and hands to become a good NFL starter.
14 (46) Giants D'Anthony Smith DT La. Tech
After losing DT Fred Robbins in free agency, the Giants need DT Chris Canty to rebound in '10 and need to add a young body to the mix. Smith has the strength, quickness and athleticism to become a good starter in time.
15 (47) Panthers Arthur Jones DT Syracuse
(from Tennessee) Jones played defensive tackle at Syracuse, but he has the size, strength and athleticism to be a good fit at end in the Patriots' 3-4 scheme.
16 (48) Patriots Brandon LaFell WR LSU
The Panthers have been trying to find a complement to WR Steve Smith for years. The team whiffed on Dwayne Jarrett in the '07 draft but shouldn't stop trying. LaFell has the size, hands and athleticism to a viable option opposite Smith.
17 (49) 49ers Nate Allen S South Fla.
The 49ers must upgrade the backend of their defense, and Allen is a well built and athletic safety to be good in coverage and run support.
18 (50) Chiefs Damian Williams* WR USC
(from Atlanta) If QB Matt Cassel is to make strides, he needs more weapons. Williams is a good route-runner with outstanding hands and also is a dangerous punt returner.
19 (51) Texans Charles Scott RB LSU
Houston coaches still like RB Steve Slaton but can't depend on him to stay healthy. Scott has the size and strength to be a durable NFL back, a fine complement to the speedy Slaton.
20 (52) Steelers Patrick Robinson CB Florida St.
The Steelers need more consistency at cornerback and would be surprised to get Robinson in the middle of the second round. If he falls this far, this is a lock of a pick.
21 (53) Patriots Montario Hardesty RB Tennessee
Hardesty is the type of big, physical runner between the tackles that coach Bill Belichick loves to use to wear down defenses.
22 (54) Bengals Mike Williams* WR Syracuse
The Bengals cut WR Laveranues Coles and even if they sign WR Terrell Owens, he's only a short-term solution. Williams has the size, athleticism and receiving skills to be a good NFL starter if he can keep his off-field issues from impacting his play.
23 (55) Eagles Jon Asamoah G Illinois
The Eagles' line was inconsistent for much of '09, so the team should jump at the chance to grab the super athletic Asamoah. He has the talent to start at guard and center and even could play tackle in a pinch.
24 (56) Packers Jacoby Ford WR Clemson
The Packers really want to upgrade their return game, and Ford has the talent to be a productive slot receiver and impact return man.
25 (57) Ravens Perrish Cox CB Oklahoma St.
The Ravens are willing to gamble on players with character questions. Cox has first-round talent and could be a steal if able to keep his off-field issues under control.
26 (58) Cardinals Donald Butler ILB Wash.
The Cardinals lost ILB Karlos Dansby in free agency and want to improve their defensive speed and playmaking ability.
27 (59) Cowboys Kyle Wilson CB Boise St.
CB Terence Newman is good, but those playing opposite him mostly have been inconsistent. Wilson has the playmaking skills to challenge for a starting job as a rookie.
28 (60) Chargers LeGarrette Blount RB Oregon
RB LaDainian Tomlinson is gone, and RB Darren Sproles probably will be around for only one more year. Blount has the size, strength, quickness and agility to be a power back who can gain the tough inside yards.
29 (61) Jets Lamarr Houston DT Texas
The Jets are trying to get younger and more athletic along the defensive line. Houston, a tackle in college, has the size, strength and athleticism to be an ideal fit at end in their 3-4 scheme.
30 (62) Vikings Devin McCourty CB Rutgers
McCourty is athletic and really shined at the NFL Scouting Combine to climb draft boards all around the league.
31 (63) Colts John Jerry G Ole Miss
The Colts' offensive line must improve and generate more space in the running game to take the pressure off QB Peyton Manning. Jerry has the talent to be a good guard or tackle; he could begin his career inside and then ultimately replace RT Ryan Diem.
32 (64) Saints Alex Carrington DE Arkansas St.
The Saints, after cutting DE Charles Grant, want to inject youth at the position to improve the pass rush. Carrington has the raw physical talent to become good NFL pass rusher in time.
